Position description

The position provides project coordination for upgrades and repairs to all technical systems including mechanical and electrcial systems that are a part of ongoing Charter House apartment renovations and other Charter House facilities initiatives.Technical systems include, but are not limited to, nurse call, fire alarm, card access, security cameras, resident care equipment, resident elopement monitoring, cable television, telephone, electrical and mechanical distribution systems, key control database, and the maintenance management system database ( work order system ). These upgrade and repairs are outside the scope of daily corrective and preventive maintenance that is performed by maintenance technicians.This position must work collaboratively with contractors, outside vendors, Charter House staff and Mayo techinical support staff. The position requires acccurate and clear communication to staff, residents and vendors regarding project related items. The position will conduct training programs, provide cost justifications and other team functions.

Qualifications

Associcates degree in electronic system maintenance and/or building maintenance systems or equivalent training. Experience of 3-5 years working on various electronic building systems preferred

Must possess good human relations skills, written/oral communication skills, and work collaboratively and professionally with all Charter House departments, Mayo support services and outside vendors.

Must be proficient in computer usage including word processing, presentation software and data base management. Experience with Micorsoft Excel, Power Point and Access programs a plus.

Requires an aptitude and understanding of office practices that include preparation of charts, minutes, spreadsheets and reports as well as other job related documents. Must be flexible and adaptable in a changing work environment. Demonstrate willingness to learn and upgrade knowledge and skill levels in all aspects of the job. Must also be able to work independently.

Additional qualifications
3-5 years of electronic building systems repair preferred.

Project management skills desirable.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $18.64 per hour.

This team manages and maintains standard monitoring tools used in collaboration with application and infrastructure support teams as well as developers to detect events and trigger alerts as they occur. The successful candidate will work in a team environment to expand performance monitoring services to our customers by providing technical recommendations for alerting based on data analysis and resulting in the design and implementation of automated workflows. The candidate will work effectively across the IT department requiring knowledge and experience in the areas of systems, database and network administration. Demonstrated experience with monitoring tools is required to include Splunk (Log Analytics), AppDynamics (APM), and/or PRTG. PowerShell scripting, JavaScript, .NET, and ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM Process experience is preferred. Under general supervision and guidance, the IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and support of moderately complex systems software and hardware computer systems at multiple Mayo Clinic sites. The IT Systems Engineer will actively monitor and respond to technical hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall system capacity. He/she may interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. The IT Systems Engineer will also be expected to contribute to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software, and/or the installation and maintenance of purchased systems software, plus the configuration and support of hardware systems across Mayo Clinic; produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested by the work unit leadership. Work will be reviewed for quality, timeliness, and adequacy at predetermined milestones. It is important that the individual develops and maintains effective relationships with the I.T. technical staff and management across all Mayo sites in the support of multiple projects simultaneously. This position can be located at any Mayo Clinic site. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and training/experience in IT technology; OR an Associate degree plus 3 years of demonstrated technical experience. A high school diploma and 5 years of demonstrated IT technical experience at a large, complex organization like Mayo may be considered in lieu of the degree. Additional qualifications Preferred qualifications: Experience working in healthcare technology. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field preferred; a Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline helpful. MCSE, CCNA, or other IT related certifications. Qualified candidates should have knowledge of system design principles, software development methodologies, project management methodologies, and some computer programming and/or system support experience. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications helpful. Advanced knowledge of multiple operating systems, including configuration, internals, and maintenance processes.
