Acuity, Inc is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and driven professional to fill the role of Technical Support Specialist. We are looking to hire the best and brightest IT professional to further assist and support our growth. The primary responsibilities of the Technical Support Specialist include:

  • Maintains the networks, PCs and servers and supports end user accounts for all computer hardware, software, phone, internet connectivity and security protocols in accordance with Quality and Safety Standards

  • Manages and monitors user setup, Internet access, and assists in enforcing discipline in its use, as well as, wiping returned computers and archiving important data

  • Recommends and governs purchasing of new computer assets and peripheral equipment such as monitors, docking stations, printers

  • Researches Licensing options to include Backup/Restore approach (Backblaze, Drop Box, Box, SharePoint etc.), Software and Security application suites (Office365, McAfee, Adobe, Azure Cloud services)

  • Manages Acuity's Cloud environment to include; Office365, Azure and Palo Alto firewall

  • Performs the complete range of computer services (to include researching costs and recommending selection of hardware and software, installation of new hardware and software, relocation of network hardware, virus cleansing)

  • Assists with the analysis, design, and implementation of LAN/WAN requirements

  • Regulates and tracks all technology assets

  • Assists with other assignments and/or special projects as requested


  • Must be US Citizen

  • Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Computer Science / Information Systems

  • Minimum (3) years of experience in a responsible IT position that required system analysis and troubleshooting

  • Extensive knowledge of industry-standard software and peripherals, and a strong working knowledge of PCs, network and communications systems

  • Ability to set-up a new facility and establish virtual servers

  • Ability to oversee network infrastructure to include; Routers, Switches, Wired/Wireless networks etc.

  • Establish and support virtual servers while managing multi-factor authentication

  • Ability to convey complex hardware/software issues to non-computer-oriented personnel

  • Ability to innovate and exercise sound judgment in defining and resolving complex and difficult task

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite of products

Preferred Skills

  • A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent certification

  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. and perform extensive work using handling/lifting equipment

  • Strong understanding of working in both a small organization wearing multiple hats and a large government contractor having insight of the bigger picture within a corporate environment
