Perform a wide variety of technical tasks in support of aircraft system installation/modification and repair projects, to include engineering, quality control, and technical consultation and support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop avionics interface drawings, reports, and data.
Prepare certification documentation in support of assigned projects.
Coordinate projects with DERs and FAA as required.
Ensure that assigned projects are on schedule.
Ensure that the assigned projects budgets are met.
Point of contact for engineering vendors on assigned projects.
Provide avionics expertise as required to support on-going quoting activities.
Coordinate with technicians/installers on the installation phase of assigned projects.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Hawker Beechcraft aircraft a plus.
Knowledge of the practical application of systems engineering. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and installation of various avionics, electrical, and mechanical aircraft systems.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of electrical and mechanical drawings and technical documents such as work instructions, test procedures, and various engineering report and analyses.
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR).
Skilled in conducting tests and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems to evaluate function and operation.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills relating to the engineering and installation of aircraft systems.
Strong written and verbal communicative skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
Associates degree with 6 years directly related experience or 8 years directly related engineering design experience in either Business Aircraft completions or in-service modifications.
Experience with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Software, AutoCAD preferred.
Primarily normal office environment.
Periodically hands-on work will be required in the fabrication shops or on the aircraft (usually in a hangar) as part of the design development process.
