The Role

Mission

To facilitate growth of the CT Brand Portfolio Aftermarket (and indirectly Equipment) through strong commitment to the delivery of high quality technical and spare parts support to all Chicago Pneumatic, Pneumatech and other brand portfolio customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the resolution of technical issues with regard to CT Brand Portfolio Products.

Dedication to continual product improvement by communicating through the Brand Portfolio distribution network (Industrial or Professional

  • VS) and the Product Companies. Escalate new quality issues to management.

Provide high quality communication, technical support, training and warranty claim processing for the related products. Report NSC problems via Customer Care database immediately and follow up until resolution.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide technical support via phone, email, fax, etc. to external customers and distributors.

Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation to assist customer service and customers for the highest level of efficiency

  • FAQ, procedures, review of operating manual and spare part books. Participate actively to cross training activities so that tech support team

Becomes more versatile in handling all types of product claims from compressor (piston/screw/scroll) to air treatment (dryer/filter)

Be aware of ECBs and design changes in order to provide proper technical support to distributors and end users (pertaining to changes/supersession).

Keep up to date with product evolution by attending product launches or technical training. Report training in the Competence portal.

Communicate with engineering as well as local vendors to resolve quality issues, and seek recovery of warrantable costs from both the product companies as well as local vendors.

Report warranty claims to warranty manager and directly handle minor claims within Prokura.

Communicate all relevant product, technical service information to the customer and work together to sustain the product integrity.

Work to understand and utilize information and communication systems and tools, i.e. e-mail, BPCS, Microsoft Office software, etc

Provide back-up support for other members of the technical support team in their absence as and when called upon to do so either by design or circumstance. Make sure phone status is back to "active" after each call.

Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.

Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.

Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What we expect of you?

Experience

A working knowledge of piston and/or rotary screw air compressors and/or air treatment is required. Cross training is expected in missing area.

Education

Associate Degree with engineering major or other relevant technical degree or the equivalent relevant work experience. Two years of progressive work experience in a related industry.

Skills

An intermediate understanding of computers and associated systems (Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, etc), business systems, distribution channels and accounting practices. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

Willingness to grow within the business. Focused on inspiring others. Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.

VIEW JOBS 10/9/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-07T00:00 The Role The role Technical Support (50%) - Provide technical support to Technicians when issues cannot be resolved, training and/or information to Distributors, Dealers, Sales and Service, internal departmental personnel, and sales companies regarding industrial and oil-free products marketed throughout the region. Review new products and product information from a sales and service perspective to determine feasibility and required resources and/or services. Visit customer sites, as and when required, to inspect equipment in special and difficult cases which could not be resolved by either Atlas Copco or distributor field operations. Customer Service (30%) - Review feedback on product performance and operational issues. Forward feedback to appropriate departments/authorities/divisions and initiate corrective actions to bring these issues to prompt, satisfactory resolution. Liaise with technical support engineers at Airpower to expedite the timely and appropriate resolution of service issues. Warranty Claims and Part Returns (20%) - Review and process warranty claims for industrial and oil free products. Review and process material that is returned (service initiated or element exchanges), as needed. Prepare and distribute inspection reports and other notifications for field release based on this review and analysis. Skills and experience Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, as well as in IBM Lotus Notes applications. 3-5 years of technical field service experience maintaining and repairing industrial compressors and dryers (Atlas Copco and other). Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of a wide variety of Atlas Copco industrial and oil-free compressors. Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with an understanding of mechanical and electrical components and the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and relay logic. Minimum of a 4-year technical and/or mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent experience (e.g. 10+ years).
