Sandvik's Camarillo site is part of the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions business area and the company's innovation center for Battery Technology. Our mission is to advance the world through engineering. Do you share our mission? We are currently looking for a Technical Service Engineer to join our Batteries & Chargers R&D department.

In this role you will create, design, and implement training materials for the Batteries and Chargers (B&C) Department, in collaboration with the Load & Haul Training Team. You will act as a coordinator for the B&C spare parts and warranty development and high-level follow-up with the internal stakeholders. The Technical Support Engineer will work closely with the field service teams to provide technical support in cases of complex battery and charger technical issues. You will provide feedback from the field to factories, engineering, product line and vehicle aftermarket teams and will assist with field trials and commissioning of new products and new mine sites to ensure safe and successful operation.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) for equipment in the field per engineering design changes.

  • Provides technical material to the service network on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices.

  • Assists factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.

  • First article support, mine site visits, collecting feedback from site launches and commissioning.

  • Research, evaluate and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.

  • Provides technical feedback to factories, engineering, and product line to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation.

  • Assists in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering improvement.

  • Creates troubleshooting guides for technicians and product specialists in the field.

EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred 5 or more years of proven experience in engineering or technical support with a focus on battery design, maintenance, automative, or charger systems.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and delivering technical support.

  • Preferred to have taken courses or have work experience focused on battery technology, electrochemistry, or energy storage systems.

  • Excellent collaboration skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (max. 25%).

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, operations engineering, manufacturing, automotive technology, etc.

Salary Range: $111,000 - $145,000
