Position Summary:

The Technical Support Engineer delivers superior and timely service support to all customers worldwide while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the industry. Provides technical support for all system components including controls, electro-mechanical components, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Shared responsibility for service and warranty support, customer training, site inspections, customer expedited service and parts solutions for project installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remotely monitors BHS installations to insure optimal product operations. Monitoring via SCADA and HMI interfaces. Troubleshoots controls, electrical and mechanical faults at customer sites.

  • Provides in-depth aftermarket support to end-users for the complete BHS product line and systems. Interfaces with customers on-site to deliver product and service training.

  • Assists with development and maintenance of technical documentation including operator's manuals, service manuals and training materials.

  • Provides feedback to R&D, Engineering and Controls groups to improve product performance and serviceability.

  • Provides warranty support.

  • Documents all customer contact within ERP system.

  • Writes reports as needed.

  • Occasional travel to customer sites, as needed.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • Associates degree in a technical field with 3+ years' experience in a technical field involving electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Hands-on mechanical & electrical aptitude is valued.

  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic machine experience preferred.

  • Previous experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens controls including PLCs and variable frequency drives and troubleshooting automation equipment a plus.

  • Must be able to clearly communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing to various audiences and be a self-starter with a history of completing projects on-time.

  • Ability to provide after-hours support or be on-call required.

The Utility Support Worker I performs traffic control set-up and flagging, operates vacuum for saw cutting, construction and maintenance tasks such as brush clearing, cleaning construction sites, hauling and spreading gravel, shoveling, raking, and operating electronic locating equipment, and receives and distributes tools and equipment. This position is subject to the terms, conditions, and benefits of EWEB's collective bargaining agreement with the IBEW Local 659. This posting includes supplemental questions. Minimum Training and Experience Required Requirements As A Qualification & Progression Experience: Six months of experience working outdoors in all weather conditions, preferably in water and electric utility maintenance, construction, or a roadway/traffic control environment. Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications: * Six months of direct experience in the utility industry, construction, saw cutting, utility locating, and traffic control. * Direct experience in underground utility locating in water, electric, gas, steam, fiber, and communications. * Experience using GIS mapping or a comparable electronic mapping program. * Current Flagger Certification. * Current Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL). Education and/or training: High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver license: Yes. Class A CDL, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Professional license or registration: Obtain Traffic Control Flagger Certification within 2 weeks of hire.
