Job Description:

This position will be on-site support and primarily located in person at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility.

This opportunity is available for current employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections, Oregon Correctional Enterprises, and Oregon Board of Parole, Probation, and Post-Prison Supervision.

Your role:

  • Communicate with a variety of users to address their technical issues that cannot be resolved by the helpdesk

  • Resolve compatibility issues including multiple operating systems

  • Track problems, resolutions, and inventory

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software

  • Research, evaluate, and implement solutions to onsite IT needs

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years of information systems experience in technical support

OR

An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field,

OR

completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;

AND

three (3) years of information systems experience in technical support

OR

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

AND

one (1) year of information systems experience in technical support

Desired Attributes

  • Strong ability to track and document problems and services

  • Maintaining hardware and software inventories

  • Business Analysis methodologies

  • Proficiency working in a team environment

  • Professional experience with Personal Computer hardware and updates

  • Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of: Windows 10 Enterprise, Microsoft Office Suites, Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN) client

  • Experience as a Technology Support Analyst

Working Conditions

Working in an adult correctional facility with contact and occasional supervision of Adults in Custody. Bending, crawling, and lifting as necessary for the set up or troubleshooting of IT equipment.

Requirements for Employment

You must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range.
