Job Summary

We are searching for a Technical Supervisor someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide effective guidance and operation of the Blood Bank sections of the Laboratory in compliance with Departmental and Institutional goals. Lastly you will coordinate, technical procedures to ensure that high quality laboratory services and testing are provided to patients in a timely and cost effective manner.   • Assist with AD and/or Manager with financial operations

  • Coordinates/Supports Continuing Education Programs

  • Maintains integrity of system, file maintenance, report, label, and collection list printing as related to assignments and requirements for section/shift

  • Works with the Manager to develop and maintain a quality program for Blood Bank to include setting quality control performance policies, calibration/calibration verification review of quality assurance data, and equipment.

  • Oversees the quality control/quality assurance programs

  • Recognizes and solves administrative/operational problems

  • In conjunction with the Manager and Medical directors, develops new methodologies and procedures; coordinate the performance of method evaluations to include technical performance ease of use/performance, quality control, maintenance; collate evaluation data for review; make recommendation for implementation


  • Bachelor's Degree in Science Degree
  • 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting, one (1) of which is in the area of specialization
  • AMT - American Medical Technologist From Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CLS
  • MLS-ASCP - Cert-Medical Lab Scientist by ASCP
  • CLS - Cert Laboratory Science by NCA
  • H-ASCP - Cert-Technologist Hematology By ASCP
  • M-ASCP - Cert-Technologist Microbiology By ASCP
  • MP-ASCP - Cert-Tech Molecular Pathology By ASCP
  • G-ASCP - Cert-Technologist Cytogenetics By ASCP

Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting management with development, analysis and implementation of staffing, training, service level and sales goals, scheduling and reward/recognition programs. Key Responsibilities: * Provides daily direction and communication to employees so that customer service calls are answered in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner. * Provides communication and follow up to ensure representatives are fully informed of all new information related to products, procedures, customer needs and company related issues, changes or actions. * Responsible for driving goals for individual, team and call center results to identify and act on both positive and negative performance trends to ensure attainment of revenue goals and performance targets. * Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers. * Provides statistical and performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to each team member. * Responsible for writing and administering performance reviews for skill improvement. * Creates and maintains a high-quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level. * Responsible for reporting and addressing disciplinary and/or performance problems according to company policy. * Responsible for ensuring daily operation of the contact center to include the development, analysis and implementation of staffing, training, sales/performance goals, scheduling, huddle sessions and reward/recognition programs. * Works as a member/leader of special or ongoing projects that are important to area/process improvement. * Establishes work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives. * Answer escalated and supervisor calls and/or messages; completes research requests; reviews and processes items that require supervisor approval. * Maintains current working knowledge of the Bank's policies, procedures, products and services as well as banking and privacy laws and regulations. * Demonstrate flexibility to perform every other duty as assigned. Competencies Required: * Ability to work within the operating hours and days for this position; demonstrate good attendance and punctuality. * Strong leadership skills with ability to drive performance management. * Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, follow directions, and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines. * Proficiency with technology (including bank systems) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint). * Ability to maintain composure and convey a positive attitude while interacting with customers and internal team members. * Proficient listening and communications skills, both written and verbal. * Customer service orientation with effective problem solving abilities. * Ability to effectively give critical feedback and coach employee performance. * Ability to meet or exceed business goals and objectives, while fostering a team atmosphere. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and projects in a fast paced environment. * Comfortable receiving ongoing performance feedback and coaching. Minimum Qualifications/Experience: * 3 years of experience leading a sales focused team in a call center environment required or 2 years of previous Woodforest Call Center Lead experience required or 1 year of Woodforest Branch Manager or above experience required. Formal Education & Certification: * High School diploma or equivalent required. Work Status: * Full-Time Supervisory Responsibility: * 2 or more FTE Travel: * 0% - Negligible amount of travel expected. Working Conditions: * Professional call center environment with extensive use of telephone and personal computers.
