The Technical SME will have responsibility for technical support across the Applications Support Program within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) enterprise environment. The DHA enterprise environment supports the mission of providing health care for the US Military.
Work in coordination with team members to lead the Production support of Applications in an ITIL centric environment
Provide guidance at expert level in performance tuning databases.
Provide support for applying vendor recommended service packs and security patches
Writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Product Insertion Guides, and Software Suggestion and Recommendation white papers
Perform Research and provide documentation on improvements
Performs Security reviews and mitigation
Create processes, templates, and tools to ensure consistent application, evaluation, and use of best practices
Trouble-shoot production systems at expert level and perform Root Cause Analysis of complex issues
Writes specifications, how-to documentation, test plans, test reports and best-practice analysis
Identifies and consults with internal technical resources to produce strategic designs
Provides operational support for applications and systems
Monitors Environments to ensure user needs are responded to on as needed and the systems are meeting ongoing business needs
Provide support on users help desk issues at a T3 level troubleshooting user's report issues related to issues, response times, connectivity and security
Effective writing and communication skills
Requires working in a 24 x 7 Production support environment and willingness to work on weekends and weeknights
1.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
2.Masters Degree preferred.
10-15 years of directly related experience
Provide full lifecycle Implementation Experience Installation, Configuration and Administration
Provide senior technical mentoring to junior technical personnel
Be able to troubleshoot complex application and networking issues
Experience with Oracle, IBM DB2, and SQL Server Databases
Experience with Networking and Operating system management
Experience with Performance analysis and configuration management
Strong SQL skills
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have good planning and leadership skills
Production support experience is required; availability for on-call support as needed.
Experience in data modeling for a data warehouse a plus
