SAIC is seeking a Technical Staffing Specialist/Technical Writer to be an integral part of the support and growth efforts for an intelligence community customer supporting diverse customer missions. This position is located in Chantilly, VA and will support offices primarily in Northern Virginia. The selected candidate will serve as a technical staffing specialist for a key SAIC IT staffing program. The Staffing Specialist acts as a talent advisor to support our customers to ensure quality talent is available to meet customer needs.
This position is a key member of the Program Management Organization (PMO) responsible for screening resumes, interviewing candidates to determine their suitability for this program, producing technical matrices and staffing description for customers, and tracking candidate data and information. Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical. The successful candidate should have a basic knowledge of recruiting and comfortable working with technical candidates with Information Technology (IT) skill sets.
Note, due to COVID-19, most work will be performed from home for the foreseeable future.
Develops and creates job postings and recruiting requisitions from customer requirements
Evaluates applicant skills and qualifications by analyzing resumes, interviewing candidates and writing evaluations for current and future opportunities
Arranges and coordinates interviews with recruiting and candidates
Develops and writes narratives / proposals based upon resumes and interviews with candidates
Builds and maintains relationships with prospective candidates and candidates on the staffing bench
Works with subcontractors to address any concerns and to build a cohesive team for candidates
Identifies, develops and implements process changes to improve staffing and recruiting
Participates in a high volume environment with multiple concurrent activities and deadlines while maintaining an extremely high level of delivery and professionalism
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience as a recruiter, staffing specialist, technical writer, resource manager or similar
Demonstrated experience engaging candidates from initial contact to onboarding or placement on designated activities, preferably technical candidates
Experience writing job descriptions, posting positions, candidate evaluations and other related documentation
Demonstrated leadership, planning and organizational skills to support simultaneous activities
Must exhibit excellent writing skills to document and respond to new opportunities for the program
Experience working in a dynamic environment as a motivated self-starter with a very professional, courteous, and considerate attitude for daily team engagement
Must be willing to take direction and guidance from highly focused management structure to address active requirements for a premier, growing program
Must be comfortable working with MS Office suite to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Security clearance or interest in receiving a security clearance
Experience with resource/staff tracking tools such as Taleo
Experience performing technical recruiting or working with technical candidates
Experience working proposals and capture efforts
Knowledge of employment law and hiring practices, behaviorally based interview techniques, tracking processes for applicants and requisitions, and capturing metrics
