Ford is looking for a subject matter expert to aid in the continue development of our Ford + technological expertise and strategies specific to system reliability, robustness, and failure avoidance in the UNSE organization to work on Power Units, Hybrids, Step ratio transmissions, and axle systems.

For a given project, this may include all levels of delivery to production and service.

Example activities: Structured Problem-Solving, Re-Authoring and Executing Failure Mode Avoidance and Design Verification Activities, Design and Release (Production and Service), Supplier Engagement, Launch, Service/Field Communications, etc.

Lead and support new technology / new product designs, using proven Reliability Methodologies, to deliver intended product reliability via the Design Verification (DV) process.

Provide Component Reliability Methods and Analysis coaching/guidance/expertise, on projects led by other Team Members.

Deliver project presentations to Leaders at all levels on project team progress, accomplishments, conclusions, and lessons learned.

Understand upfront design methods, analytical verification, and physical component test plans required to deliver parts that meet life of vehicle performance targets.

Speak with confidence and authority, and be humble and collaborative in leading a technical review or debate

Teach and mentor other system engineers about failure avoidance strategies and processes

Work with full-service suppliers to develop analytical and physical test plans that demonstrate cascaded reliability requirements

Applicants must possess a strong interest in learning and technical development. While in this assignment, applicants will be exposed to multiple problem-solving tools and methods, several different commodity components, systems, software and Engineering groups, and Ford's vast array of technology resources.

Applicants will be required to interface with teams that include subject matter experts, allowing opportunities to expand their knowledge in these areas to learn the physics of how the systems and components work to support their project problem solving.

Projects frequently target high profile products/technology and provides the opportunity to present findings with Leaders at all levels of the company.
