TECHNICAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR - SERVER & STORAGE

Position Description

As the Technical Services Supervisor - Server and Storage, you will be responsible for leading the Information Technology Server and Storage team and their related infrastructure environment. This includes owned and hosted operations, such as HP, VMWare, Microsoft and NetApp technologies]. Plan, coordinate, direct, and design technology-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the Technical Services team. Collaborate with decision makers and architects in IT and with other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization with support and approval from IT leadership. Support the Data Center & Network Operations Senior Manager with defining and implementing technology policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Lead the Server and Storage team in operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.

• Manage the deployment, build, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of infrastructure components.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including vendors, to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

• Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts. This includes managing vendor's who support server and storage requirements or initiatives.

• Select, train, develop and evaluate staff to ensure desired performance. Establish and communicate clear performance standards across teams, ensuring standardized staff monitoring and performance evaluations. Oversee development, planning and execution of all training, development, and mentorship of staff.

• Supervise IT - Server and Storage team to ensure they meet the needs of the organization. Ensure team members follow procedures for communicating outage/emergency activities for the organization and directing and prioritization of work activities.

• Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.

• Collaborate with the Data Center and Infrastructure Operations Senior Manager. Contribute to the oversight of UCare Data Centers and office location. Manage system capacity and performance. Ensure systems are properly managed and maintained. In coordination with system architects, guide the development and implementation of UCare's overall architecture approach and plan to ensure that UCare has the flexibility and scalability to adapt to an ever-changing future.

• Collaborate with Facilities, IT Security and other areas of the business to co-manage UCare's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan (BCP/DR). This includes maintaining UCare' warm-site, participating in the yearly update of the BCP/DR plan, and playing a key role in implementing and supporting the plan.

• Foster an environment of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration within the Technical Services team, IT department and UCare organization.

• Stay current on latest technologies and trends and recommend new solutions to meet the organization's changing needs.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.
