Position: Technical Services Manager

Location: USA | Hoffman Estates, Illinois

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Technical Services Manager is a product management professional that facilitates business growth through managing a staff in North America to provide technical product and application support assistance, product training, and product commercialization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage North America based Technical Services staff.

  • Provide technical product support and application assistance to company sales force and customers.

  • Conduct and manage Approved Applicator training for the CoreFlex product line.

  • Facilitate product management coordination with manufacturing, marketing, EHS, customer service, R&D, finance, and global supply chain.

  • Author technical documents to support marketing/sales efforts: Product literature, Technical References, Architectural Specifications, PowerPoint Presentations, and white papers.

  • Manage product approvals and certifications for industry requirements and regulations.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage information posted to website and applicable distribution sites such a DropBox / OneDrive

  • Use SalesForce Customer Management Software to facilitate, communicate, and manage project opportunities.

  • Company Participant with applicable industry associations.

  • Participate in the NPPD (New Product and Process Development) work.

Operational Excellence (OE) /Lean:

  • Drive Safety Performance per MTI policy including risk assessments, standard work, training, near miss reporting etc.

  • Plan and Facilitate Safety Training at Applicator Training Sessions.

  • Lead Kaizen events focused on new product commercialization and support services.

  • Actively participate in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

  • Leverage OE knowledge and tools to drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure tracking, daily management and use of key performance indicators to promote improved operational and business results (Plan-Do-Check-Act).

  • Utilize Velocity EHS (KMI) to report, resolve and track material and process issues.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Building Construction or other relevant technical degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of construction/design and/or waterproofing technologies

  • Ability to lead, organize, and coordinate staff to facilitate work and business objectives

  • Excellent writing and verbal, communication skills. Bilingual skills a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs

  • Ability to read and speak English

Travel: 15-20% domestic travel anticipated; limited international travel as applicable to support large sales revenue projects

Working Conditions: Worked is performed in an MTI Office, construction jobsites, manufacturing facilities, and customer facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to have the ability to work in an office environment, using office equipment as needed, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, follow instructions and other oral/written information, compose correspondence in a professional manner, complete paperwork and other documentation accurately, work independently and with others, communicate effectively with all individuals internal and external to the organization, analyze information/situations as needed, be organized and detail-oriented, be able to identify/judge the urgency of a situation, use judgment in decision making, and use creativity and negotiation when necessary.

Physical Abilities:

Must have the ability to travel by air and auto to construction job sites, manufacturing facilities, attend trade shows, and to conduct training classes. Must have the ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding and wear proper PPE on job sites and other facilities. Must have the ability to travel with and lift/transport material weighing up to 75 lbs.

Work Hours: Position is exempt/staff. Work is typically performed on the day shift. However, employee must have ability to work the number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished. Most business travel will require a minimum of one night stay overnight at a hotel.
