Position Description

The Technical Services Manager, Fueling Operations is accountable for directing and managing the Ryder Fuel Services (RFS) service department operations, providing leadership, workflow, and personnel management, with a goal towards achievement "Best in Class" customer service. RFS operates within the down-stream oil and gas industry, with customers throughout North America. The Technical Services Manager, Fueling Operations leads a team of 10-15 members with intermediate to strong knowledge of fueling systems maintenance/service operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, or equivalent operational field preferred

  • Vocational or Technical Certification in electrical, electronics and related industry field experience preferred

  • Vocational or Technical Certification third party equipment certifications to include ATG (Veeder-Root, Incon, OPW, Omntec) preferred

  • Three (3) years or more experience related to petroleum industry services, associated to fueling facilities and associated equipment

  • Ability to:

  • Listen, write, and speak effectively

  • Work in a regulated environment

  • Work independently and manage a team of people

  • Work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations related to Fuel System installation and operation

  • Builds and manages effective teams

  • Strong people management skills, Manager Technical Services, Fueling Operations will need to motivate team members, to ensure adheres to all company policies and procedures to include delivering best in class customer services

  • Demonstrates problem solving skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills, Manager Technical Services, must be able to solve customer issues/problems, sometimes without seeing the actual problem first hand

  • Inform, explain, and give instructions

  • Above average oral and written communication skills, Manager Technical Services needs to be able to listen effectively to find the root cause of issues, and communicate clearly and in a responsive way to solve issues and keep the customer delighted

  • Excellent time management, ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong customer relations skills, Manager Technical Services, Fueling Operations must have patience, open-mindedness and ability to deal with complicated or irate customers

  • Knowledge of down stream fuel systems, dispensing systems and monitoring equipment, etc (intermediate level)

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency Microsoft Office products (advanced level)

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to Ryder Fuel Services technical support team, establish and coordinate training and development of personnel, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to fueling systems regulatory compliance

  • Support the technical support team members with troubleshooting problems/issues with Ryder and external customer sites and equipment. Lead projects/tasks to include monitoring progress and quality assurance to include ensuring that regulatory and Ryder compliance standards are maintained in operations

  • Drive continual improvement of the Ryder Fuel Services, technical services support center, enhancing productivity, profitability, enabling and assisting Ryder Fuel Services ability to grow its business

  • Achieve technical services team human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, administering scheduling systems, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, enforcing policies and procedures

  • Support the continued growth of Ryder Fuel Services through continuous process/protocol improvement initiatives

  • Enhance and develop department processes and procedures with a focus on improving department operations

  • Drive continuous improvement of the interface and processes between the Compliance and Technical Services support teams to achieve and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and facilities compliance excellence

  • Achiever organizational goals by assuming ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.To include Ensuring the technical support team meets business goals, resolve customer needs/requests, and/or answer incoming and make outgoing calls

  • Prepare call center performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends

  • Facilitate business retention and growth through effective customer service and vendor management

  • Determine Call center operational strategy by conducting needs assessments, performance reviews, capacity planning, and cost/benefit analyzes

  • Collaborate with other Ryder Fuel Services departments (Compliance, Finance, and Project Management) to achieve business unit goals and objectives

  • Perform other duties as needed

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Position Summary To efficiently and profitably manage and direct the Station providing a quality product over a range of fueling services to its customer base and to expand the customer base accordingly. Functions may include management and operation of fuel storage facilities, into-plane fuel servicing, ground support fuel servicing and maintenance of fueling equipment. To meet and, where possible, improve on targets, both financial and operational, as set out in the Business Plan and in the Operating Budget. Essential Duties Prepare the operating budgets for ABM Fueling for the following year for approval by the ABM's Vice President of Operations and the President of ABM Fueling, Inc. Prepare consortium operating budget to include any operational concerns/requirements for approval by the Fuel consortium chairperson and its member airlines. Lead and direct local Operation Managers to establish proper resource planning (manpower, equipment and facilities). Ensures Managers are in compliance with all company, customer, industry and Federal agency training and safety requirements including documentation through training records. Ensure that both company and consortium financial targets are met. Ensure close and effective business relationship with Fuel consortium chairperson and customer airline's fuel representatives. Ensure that all subcontracted providers are closely supervised. Ensure stability and maintenance of current customer accounts while striving to grow business through the Operation Managers as well as personal initiatives Maintain a good working relationship with the various control authorities such as Airport Management and Federal Agencies to include; FAA, TSA, Customs, EPA, Immigrations, etc. Ensure that all subcontracted providers are closely supervised. Ensure stability and maintenance of current customer accounts while striving to grow business through the Operation Managers as well as personal initiatives. Ensure local station management personnel conduct employee recruitment, retention, development and or discipline in accordance with all company, federal and state regulations in regards to discrimination for race, color, gender, sexual preference, citizenship status, marital status, age, religion, national origin, veteran status, or disability. Supervise and monitor the financial performance and the quality of service. Report relevant data to the Fuel consortium chairperson and Vice President of Operations ABM Fueling. Ensure that administrative and control procedures are established and maintained in accordance with Fuel consortium and airline customer requirements as well as company policies/procedures. Submit all financial information and reports as may be required by the Fuel consortium and Vice President of ABM Fueling within the agreed time frame and format. Monitor station operations for compliance with fuel inventory controls and environmental compliance. Implement, maintain and closely supervise all safety and security measures related to people, equipment, facilities and aircraft involved in the operation. Provide any needed support to Fuel consortium chairperson in dealings with customers, authorities and labor organizations. Support and assist both local station personnel and cooperate employees in collection of financial receivables under the scope of responsibility. Ensure that there are effective planning methods and procedures in place to ensure that there are adequate resources, both manpower and equipment, to meet operational requirements and that these resources are efficiently allocated in line with the operational needs. Initiate new contracts in coordination with Fuel consortium chairperson and ABM's VP of Business Development. Ensure that there is a progressive personnel policy governing the recruitment, training and development of staff.
