This summer internship is a paid, part-time (20 hours per week), temporary position with an expected duration of ~3 months. This individual will be required to work onsite at our company headquarters, currently located at 1775 Hancock Street, Ste 110, San Diego, CA 92110.

The value you'll bring: As a member of the Managed Solution Operations team, you'll work side by side with IT engineers to deliver projects/work related to IT helpdesk, managed services, hardware/software procurement, and IT asset management. You'll develop knowledge related to Managed Solution's services portfolio; execute on projects related to our technical services; and support efforts to improve internal processes. Essential functions include:

  • Integrating into the Managed Solution organization, establishing yourself as a contributing member of the Operations team.

  • Understanding Managed Solution's services offerings, including IT helpdesk, managed + professional services, cloud consulting, and hardware/software procurement.

  • Inventory Managed Solution and/or client technology assets as assigned. Create reports/logs to document critical data related to technology assets, such as serial number, specs, warranty information, etc.

  • Assists with ensuring timely receipt of issued assets by creating and affixing shipping labels, packaging items in a secure manner, and delivering outgoing packages to shipping vendors as assigned by the Asset Management/Configuration Specialist.

  • Assists in receiving inventory shipped to the office, including documenting serial numbers, warranty information, packing slips, etc., in accordance with company, client, and department standards, at the direction of the Procurement department and Asset Management/Configuration Specialist.

  • Learn about developing and deploying appropriate IT solutions to solve various business challenges.

  • Under the supervision of assigned mentors, develop introductory experience in various aspects of IT, which may include Cloud (Azure, Office365), Networking, Servers, Storage, Power, Desktop Support, etc.

  • Learn Managed Solution and client protocols for correctly configuring desktops/laptops and apply knowledge in configuring such devices accordingly.

  • Assists with Managed Solution's in office IT needs as directed, which may include activities related to network cabling, monitor/hardware installation, collection of retired devices (e-waste) for recycling, organization of assets, etc.

  • Learn and comply with procedures for proper utilization of IT technologies, including Company security and HIPAA policies.

  • Maintain compliance with all Company procedures and policies, including those related to confidentiality.

  • Travel to client sites and other locations may be necessary, so reliable transportation is required.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education, Work, and Technical Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • College-Level Internship: at least 2 years of coursework within or graduation from a technology-related college or degree program is required.

  • Strong proficiency with desktop (hardware, OS, etc.) fundamentals is required and 1+ year of desktop/end-user IT support is ideal.

  • Strong proficiency across IT foundations (network/server infrastructure; operating systems; cybersecurity; cloud technology; etc.) is highly desired.

  • Prior experience utilizing Azure and Intune to register IT assets is highly desired.

  • Prior experience with IT Service Management/ticketing tools (ConnectWise, ServiceNow, etc.) or inventory management a plus!

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal English as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to interact with professionals at all levels of an organization, including clients/prospects.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities according to instructions.

  • Strong drive to perform meaningful work and learn within a dynamic business environment.

  • Mastery of common Microsoft business applications (Office365, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.

Part-Time, Temporary Status: This summer internship is a paid, part-time (20 hours per week), temporary position with an expected duration of ~3 months.

Shift + Availability: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with scheduled hours to be agreed upon based on Company needs.

Work Location: This position will be required to perform work onsite at our company headquarters, currently located at 1775 Hancock Street, Ste 110, San Diego, CA 92110. This individual may be assigned travel during work hours to sites such as shipping vendors or client sites as required.

Other Requirements: Valid California Driver's License, acceptable driving history, and reliable personal transportation, or other method of reliable transportation to and between assigned work locations is required.

Physical Demands: The essential functions of this job require: the ability to frequently sit and stand for long periods of time; to manipulate objects with fine and gross motor skills; to frequently lift and maneuver 10-pound objects and very occasionally lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs.; to communicate in written and spoken English; to hear; to utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Compensation & Benefits*

Base Wage Range: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Managed Solution considers a range of factors when determining an appropriate wage. Such factors include but are not limited to: years of related experience, industry knowledge, formal education, relevant certifications, and geographic location. Wages are paid as earned and in accordance with Company policies.

Additional Perks:

  • Paid Sick Time accrues 1 hour for every 30 hours worked

  • $80/Month Cell Phone + Internet Reimbursement

  • Working < 20 hours per week, individuals will not be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other insurance benefits; holiday pay; or vacation/PTO accrual.

  • Employees who work more than 90 days may become eligible to participate in Managed Solution's 401k; Managed Solution matches 50% of your first 6% in contributions, starting after 90 days
