We have a great opportunity for an experienced Technical Service Manager to join our team in Chicagoland. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the operation of a technical service branch office that provides calibration, maintenance, and repair of complex electronic, mechanical and process control assemblies and instrumentation, under the guidance of the Regional Service Manager. Lead a cross-functional team of technical, logistics, customer service, and sales personnel that are based throughout the Chicagoland region.
Achieve business objectives (revenue, profitability, core growth, and operational performance) in an entrepreneurial atmosphere with limited direct supervision from the District Manager.
Supports the Regional Service Center Manager's directives related to profit and loss and may lead cost reduction initiatives as required.
Develop, recruit and retain personnel resources to build an effective team.
Implement the quality management system to achieve customer fulfillment, support new business, and achieve market growth.
Own the customer relationship; establish and foster customer intimacy through routine interaction with key customer representatives.
Partner with sales counterparts on new business opportunities to develop support strategies that will facilitate achievement of annual business objectives.
Manage employee relations to ensure a progressive workforce.
Support and enhance the "Fortive Business System" culture by driving continuous improvement in all areas of business and personally utilizing Growth, Lean and Leadership tools.
Promote the use of Lean tools to analyze and solve high-priority problems, ensuring process-based countermeasures and root cause analysis.
U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
5 years of technical experience in the metrology field with demonstrated expertise in electronic equipment calibration or physical/dimensional calibration required.
Experience managing "technical service" preferred.
Experience managing through influence in a matrix environment preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Solid experience in attracting, recruiting and retaining top performers.
Strong communication, employee relations, and team building skills along with accomplishments in leading, motivating, training, and developing.
Demonstrated achievement in meeting revenue objectives by developing and managing new business opportunities in a high-technology service industry a plus.
Demonstrated success with planning, organizing, and time management.
Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, & Outlook) and industry specific software.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Must be able to travel.
