Overall Function:

Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? The Clean Technologies business has a development opportunity for a Technical Services Engineer Refining. The Technical Services Engineer will report to the Technical Services Manager. The individual will perform technical service activities to support customers' operating units in the IsoTherming hydroprocessing and STRATCO alkylation businesses in DuPont Clean Technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute technical service engagements at customer sites.

  • Contribute to standardization of technical service delivery processes and tools and document best operating practices.

  • Support all areas of the technologies with operational expertise.

  • Provide remote troubleshooting of operations, including phone calls, emails, and remote data monitoring.

  • Develop operator training materials and deliver training sessions on site.

  • Participate in engineering exercises such as customer PFD and P&ID review meetings.

  • Contribute to the technical/technology development to support the refining businesses, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of business, technical and R&D members. Support cross-functional collaboration with DuPont Clean Technologies, and with the broader DuPont Science & Engineering teams.

  • Be a role model of DuPont Core Values.

  • BS in Chemical Engineering.

  • 5 or more years of experience in alkylation and/or hydroprocessing technology and operations support

  • Demonstrated Core Values leadership and performance.

  • Demonstrates strong technical rigor with an innovation mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with impact and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Thrive in a self-directed environment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Travel will be required to connect technical services teams globally, and travel to customer sites worldwide.

Learns about customer's business in order to identify risk management objectives and needs. Ensures accurate and concise communication and mutual understanding with customers. Keeps customers informed of status of services, support material available and outside resources relevant to identify customers' safety concerns. * Participates in training and development of customers. Oversees implementation of program(s). Provides technical support to assist with implementation of recommendations/actions plans. Counsels customers regarding technical issues. * Actively pursues professional development efforts to better meet customer expectations. * May actively participate in acquiring new business by following up on leads and presenting proposals to potential customers. Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess the following: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent with coursework in math, engineering or related areas (or equivalent) and at least 5-8 years of directly related consulting experience in loss prevention or progressive safety/heath field. * Candidates are typically working towards (or obtained) an advanced degree and/or professional certification in one or more of the following areas: CSP, ARM, CRM, CPCU, CIH, or CPE. * Advanced knowledge, skills and experience in a specialized field, service planning and delivery, risk assessment, risk analysis, solutions management and progress measurement. Fully effective interpersonal, writing and other communication skills required to develop and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and industry contacts. * Demonstrated ability to retrieve and enter information using various proprietary software applications and create/modify documents and complex spreadsheets using Microsoft Office suite. * Position requires regular travel.
