What You'll Get to Do:

Provide training to the Intelligence Community (IC) workforce and to maintain existing course content for currency and relevancy. You will employ both classroom instruction and alternative delivery methods for students located at Ft. Washington, MD and, possibly, temporarily at other CONUS/OCONUS locations as deem necessary to the mission.

More About the Role:

You will prepare and present classroom lectures and assist in TSEC curriculum modernization. Use blended learning technologies, deliver training on the knowledge and skills required for conducting compliant, effective, and efficient TSCM training. Work with course developers to ensure the correct information and best teaching methodologies are used.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • A current TS/SCI clearance and Poly

  • A minimum of 8-years of applied practical experience in Federal Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) OR Technical Surveillance Activities (TSA) in the last 10-years

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education and Training OR a minimum of 5-years of experience teaching adults

  • Experience in at least two of the following TSEC subdiscipline requirements: Technical Surveillance Technology: 5-years' experience in Technical Surveillance technology and techniques; Component Detection Technology: 5-years' experience in defensive component detection technology and techniques; Radio Frequency Technology: 5-years' experience in Radio Frequency technology and techniques; Telephony Technology: 5-years' experience in digital telephony technology and techniques; Computer Technology: 5-years' experience in computer and network technology and techniques including system administration, network security, hardware, and software OR a bachelor's degree in computer science or information system management; TSCM and Preparations Training: 5-years' experience in TSCM technology and techniques OR a bachelor's degree in technology, electrical engineering, communications or computer science.

  • In lieu of direct experience with the aforementioned TSEC subdisciplines, you must possess a bachelor's degree in technology electrical engineering, communications or computer science

Responsibilities The Security Engineering TSCM Instructor serves as a training instructor for the Technical Security Countermeasures (TSCM) program in the Diplomatic Security Training Center (DSTC). The incumbent works under the guidance of the Program Office. Major Duties: * Plans, prepares, and presents TSCM training courses/briefs. * Prepares classroom environment pre/post instruction according to established procedures. * Assists other instructors in classroom preparation, instruction, and audio/visual support. * Provides research services on national and international developments in the TSCM domain. * Adheres to Training and Performance Standard Operating Procedures and Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards. * Monitors the depletion rate of supplies, materials and equipment; notify appropriate staff on low inventory or damaged equipment as required. * Participates with other agencies/working groups to enhance training as required. * Employs applicable Department of State security standards and procedures to protect national security information. * Operates U.S. government vehicles as necessary in the performance of assigned tasks. * Travels to U.S. and foreign training sites as required. * Employee will require some supervision and has a growing opportunity to exercise independent judgment and initiative in the line of work. Qualifications * TSCM certification from the Interagency Training Center. * Combination of college level education and experience that is equivalent to seven or more (7+) years' experience in the following TSCM disciplines: RF/signal, telephony, network analysis and electronics intelligence. * Experience employing information security practices to establish and maintain system integrity for safeguarding classified information in secure and non-secure environments. * Ability to become a certified instructor within six months of assignment. * Technical knowledge of hostile intelligence services (HIS) and their methods of operation. * Familiarity with intrusion detection, access control, and CCTV systems. * Familiarity with telephony systems to include PSTN, PBS installation and maintenance, and VOIP. * Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel). * Ability to stand/walk/bend for long periods and lift medium to heavy objects. * Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing and able to drive an official U.S. government van/sedan.
