Technical, Sales & Training Support

Support the daily operations of SP Scientific/SP Industries through service, technical support, training & parts sales to our customers and service personnel for equipment manufactured by SP Scientific.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Promote customer satisfaction.Provide remote customer support via phone and e-mail.Train customer personnel in lyophilizer equipment operation and maintenance.Parts sales identify, quote and process parts orders.Troubleshoot, repair and service lyophilizers.Remain current on technical and process knowledge to properly support SP Scientific products.Maintain and complete all related documentation & reports associated with service duties.Provide input to improve system design, performance, and technical documentation.Inform customers of and promote SP Scientific products and services.Work independently with moderate supervision.Travel to customer sites as needed.Other assigned activities as needed.

Technical Skills including, but not inclusive of:

  • Refrigeration (EPA Universal Card).

  • Knowledge and experience with cascade refrigeration systems a plus.

  • Vacuum systems.

  • Basic understanding of PLC Controls including ladder logic.

  • Familiarity and use of test equipment.

  • Familiarity and use of hand tools.

  • Plumbing, including piping and brazing.

  • Electrical/Electronic knowledge.

  • Understanding of technical instructions, schematics, blueprints and specifications.

  • Mechanical Skills.

  • Computer Skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Degree or Certificate from approved two year college or technical school in related field, five years related experience, or equivalent education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals. Effective writing skills to produce reports, correspondence, etc.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. .

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands such as operating hand tools, power tools, and moderate lifting may occasionally be required. Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Use of hands to handle, finger and feel objects. Use of hands to handle tools and controls. Use of arms and hands to climb and balance. Use of the following senses: sight (close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception), hearing, talking, taste and smell. Lifting and moving objects up to 70 pounds. Occasionally moving larger objects with assistance.

Key customer benefits include improved asset productivity and energy savings. 2019-04-07 Professionals ( > 2 years of work experience) Tasks: The Sales Channel Support Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with their assigned Sales Channel and/or Customer contacts. This person will provide training and basic knowledge on ABB specified products, and expert knowledge on our services, procedures and tools. This person is also responsible for performing support activities as needed to ensure that the customers and/or Sales Channel's experience with ABB has a high degree of satisfaction, while Working with Regional Sales management to ensure that Sales Channels provide the best possible service levels to our mutual customers. Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES * Manage the inside support requirements of multiple Representative/Distributor Sales Channels and Customers as a Single Point of Contact for order related activities and acts as a Sales Channel advocate within ABB. * Responsible for maintaining a high level of satisfaction through timely and accurate processing of standard quotes, sales orders, change orders, expedites/better delivery requests, return/repair orders, debit/credit memos, etc. * Process special Sales Orders that cannot be processed by Sales Channels or Customers and ensure that the required information is captured, validated and communicated as required. * Take ownership of Sales Channel or Customer problems, utilize required ABB resources to investigate and resolve, and provide adequate responses in a timely manner. * Provide training and guidance to Sales Channel or Customers on products, services, processes and available tools. * Process pre and post sale requests from Sales Channels and Customers for better delivery lead-times or expedites by working directly with our factories and/or purchasing to ensure delivery requirements are satisfied. * Process quote requests for standard products, services and provide support to convert legacy or competitor products to ABB standard products. * Process customer and/or Sales Channel requests for returns and credits. Make acceptance decisions using Sales Channel experience and judgment based on management and product management acceptance guidelines. * Proactively contacts Sales Channels and Regional Sales Managers to develop solutions to issues or improve current practices. * Complete miscellaneous functions and special projects as assigned. * Ensure the completion and maintenance of all records, paperwork, documentation, etc. necessary to comply with regulatory demands, ABB Code of Conduct, FCPA and ABB internal policies. * Work with Shared Services and our Channels to resolve disputes, collection issues and credit approval situations.
