DSM /DSM Food Specialities: Technical Sales Support: Beverage and More Division-Fruit, Bio Protection, Protein, Brewing Categories

Location: Prefer Mid-West Based / Possible Home Office with Lab Duties in South Bend Indiana.

Accountabilities:

  • Investigate and determine the technical needs of customers and draw up a technical service plan, in cooperation with Sales and Account Management, and according to the Customer Service Level Agreements.

  • Provide service to customers in such a way that they are able to apply the Business Unit's products safely.

  • Organize and support trials for validation of new products or formula changes in customers' production facilities.

  • Investigate (or support the investigation), resolve and document customer technical complaints.

  • Interpret data and trends related to technical service issues and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Monitor competitive and customer technical developments, new applications and new products and share this knowledge with the appropriate functions in the BU.

  • Supervise the laboratory activities for technical service.

  • Establish a relationship with appropriate equipment vendors in order to have advance knowledge of process improvements, have the BU products approved for use and have the products recommended for commissioning of the equipment.

  • Document actions by compiling technical journals and preparing reports based on these findings.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States and Canada with andwithout assigned Account Manager for Client Support.

Strategy: Contribute to develop and implement the technical service strategy, in co-operation with the Sales/ Sales Management and Marketing Management team members.

Organizational Structure and Development: Develop, implement and manage a cost effective and efficient organization, standard working processes and systems, in order to enable optimal business performance.

Fact Based Solutions Finder: Applies fact-based insights to build a solution / solve a problem. Analyses and integrates data and makes rational judgments based on facts. Understands and advocates the use of automated systems and tools to collect and analyze data. Effectively applies data-driven insights when taking decisions.

Realize Customer Improvement: Looks for ways to improve the customer experience/loyalty and acts upon them. Provides input to determine the positioning of new products and to develop value proposition. Manages changes in portfolio and product specifications towards customers

Educational Background:

  • Undergraduate or master's degree in Bio Chemistry, Biology or Food Science.

  • 5+ Years of Experience preferred with proven track record.

  • Prefer Mid-West Based / Possible Home Office with Lab Duties in South Bend Indiana.

  • Technical Knowledge of BU Products, Knowledge of and experience in other relevant disciplines.

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Fluent knowledge of Excel Power Point, Windows 10 and worked with a CRM system is a must.

The South Bend/Rocky Mount Sr. Technical Manager is responsible for leading the PSE organization's resolution of all the South Bend and Rocky Mount site-related engineering production issues. The PSE manager is a member of the site leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop and approve minor, class II changes to engineering design documentation and material review board (MRB) in direct support of integrated supply chain (ISC) issue resolution. The scope will include factory as well as supply chain related issue resolution. In addition, working with engineering centers of excellence (COEs) and other cross-functional organizations to ensure a timely and coordinated approach to ISC production and factory support activity planning and execution. The PSE leader is also accountable for managing to the approved budget and building strong relationships with ISC, advanced manufacturing engineering (AME), and Engineering & Technology. This role includes interfacing within and across multiple Honeywell sites. Key Responsibilities * South Bend/Rocky Mount PSE Site Leader role and E&T focal and escalation point for all Engineering related production and factory issues, problems, escapes, and flow disruptions. * Provide dedicated product, and test engineering support to the South Bend and Rocky Mount manufacturing factory's, including Continuity of Supply, minor/class II engineering documentation changes and MRB support. * Coordinate various approvals with design engineering centers of excellence (COEs), FAA DERs and Chief Engineers. * Apply standard processes to ensure production flow, rapid problem solving and reduced customer escapes. * Identify supplier development needs and engage subject-matter experts. * Provide manufacturing feedback to design COEs, ETS and PSE Strategic Process Team. * Disciplined approach to rapid problem solving and thorough RCCA. * Application of applicable APQP tools, methodologies, and processes to capture applicable product and failure mode knowledge and lessons learned. * Facilitate adoption of key HOS methodologies such as Tiered Accountability, Rapid Problem Solving, Visual Management, Leadership Standard Work, Gemba and Kaizen. * Develop and foster a high-performance staff through skills assessments, training, coaching, and performance feedback. * Align funding and demand signals across ISC to generate a cohesive signal to engineering. * Manage department census, expense and yield. * Employee management including annual employee reviews, Management Resource Readiness (MRR) and Technical Resource Readiness (TRR) assessments of individuals and group * Operate within all Honeywell Aerospace policies and business practices * Influence & challenge engineering teams to effectively solve complex engineering problems * Accelerate innovation and growth while leading a team of talented experienced engineers * Partner with customers and broader engineering teams to ensure the resources and skills needed to drive business growth As a people leader you will focus on Honeywell's five pillars of a successful leader: * Burning Platform: Demonstration of developing and delivering a compelling burning platform for your department.
