Summary:Actively pursues and promotes sales opportunities by traveling through assigned sales territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and provide

technical assistance. Achieves revenue, margin, and market share goals for assigned sales territory.

This role is a representative of our Downhole Products "DHP" product line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Meets with office-based customers to identify requirements. Gives technical advice related to product selection and application. Demonstrates products and demonstrates added value as appropriate. Solicits orders.

  • Performs technical analysis for customer proposals.

  • Prepares technical and commercial proposals including product selection, pricing, and delivery to assigned customers.

  • Uses guidelines for pricing, discounts, national contracts, agreements,or special pricing and an understanding of cost and profit to make

  • decisions.

  • Builds relationships and services accounts pre and post-sale. Answers inquiries from customers regarding service, deliveries, and invoicing.

  • Resolves customer issues promptly.

  • May monitor receivables and follow up with customers on past due accounts to ensure that DSOs (Days Sales Outstanding) are in line with plan goals as required.

  • Prepares documentation and system transactions relating to sales such as quotes, sales orders, consigned orders, shipments, billing, and inventory availability.

  • Monitors and documents product performance, ours, and competitors. Authors and presents technical proposals and performance re-caps with emphasis on ROI, geological interfaces, and perceived product benefits.

  • Communicates product modifications needed to accomplish sales goals and new product requirements to meet market demands.

  • Works closely with Field Sales to ensure the customer receives the best in class service at the field level.

  • Participates in organized industry-related organizations and trade shows to enhance customer interaction.

  • Prepares monthly sales, inventory, and expense reporting. Prepares monthly sales and inventory reporting for consigned stockholders.

  • Keeps abreast of competitor product developments, market shares, and sales personnel.

  • Supports sales colleagues.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree in business, geology, oil & gas technologies from an accredited university or

  • equivalent related experience.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record with ability to maintain an acceptable driving record in line with company requirements.

  • Knowledge of the drilling industry, trends, and general business and financial acumen.

  • Knowledge of general office and sales practices and procedures.

  • Knowledge of drilling equipment used in assigned territory.

  • Knowledge of customer operations in assigned territory preferred.

  • Understanding of business terms such as market complexity, gross margin, pricing, supply and demand, and their relationship to the success of profit generation.

  • Typically, at least five years of sales experience in the energy services industry.

  • Experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system preferred.

  • Proven sales experience in the well construction sector - selling to drilling engineers inside E&P Operators;

  • A proficient understanding in both product functionality and applications in primary cementing equipment - conventional float equipment, casing centralizers, stage tools, reamer shoes and associated accessories;

  • A proficient understanding in casing deployment and cementing operations;

  • Proven experience in product sales forecasting

Key customer relationships should include: Drilling Engineers.
