Technical Sales Representative

Great Northern is a leading developer and manufacturer of creative solutions for packaging, shipping, merchandising and distributing products for industrial, commercial and retail markets.

Due to an upcoming retirement, Great Northern Corporation is looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our growing Sales team! Are you ready to make a difference?

Position Details:

• Promotes custom packaging products.

• Communicates with customers and account managers about the specifics of custom packaging products and their special needs.

• Foster future growth by developing new opportunities and customers.

• Target additional business within existing accounts.

• Actively pursue targeted accounts with custom packaging as directed.

• Position will be a combination of direct sales and a support role.

• Supports sales force with technical presentations to current and potential customers.

• Provide alternatives and solutions to customers' expressed wants and needs.

• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

• Manages custom packaging solutions projects from start to finish, promoting a wide range of products.

• Develops and maintains relationships with vendors for the purchase of custom packaging components.

• Works directly with design departments to integrate corrugated with custom products.

• Develops cost knowledge of custom packaging materials.

• Develops quotations. Works with sales and customer service on pricing.

• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Monthly review of summary reports to keep track of margin and sales.

• Attends trade shows.

• Nurture long term relationships with customers.

Expectations:

• Minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in packaging and two to three years in brown box design or equivalent experience.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
