We are looking for highly motivated and self driven Regional Account Managers located in Southern California that has a high mechanical aptitude and desire to build long-term relationships. Must be able to ascertain how our products and services can provide solutions to our customers..

The Regional Account Manager role is to utilize a strong knowledge of our manufacturers' products to work with government agencies in an assigned territory to generate new business from both existing customers and new customers.

Regional Account Manager responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key decision makers to present the features and benefits of the fire apparatus, ambulance and specialty vehicle manufacturers we represent. Regional Account Managers will liaise between customers and internal teams from the initial design to the custom manufacturing of the vehicle.

Our ideal candidate has an extremely high mechanical aptitude, strong organizational skills, strong sales skills and is able to manage multiple projects at a time while still generating new opportunities. Prior experience in government/municipal sales or fire and EMS industries a plus. This is a highly technical and detailed sales process.

Positions available for fire appratus and ambulance sales or both for the right candidate. Positions open in Northern California in addition to this posting.


  • Learn the products and services offered, including industry specific sales terms in a highly detailed manner.
  • Evaluate customers needs and build productive long lasting relationships
  • Meet personal and team sales targets
  • Research accounts and generate opportunities
  • Present/demo products to prospective clients
  • Provide professional after-sales support to enhance the customers dedication
  • Remain in frequent contact with customers and potential customers in your responsibility to understand their needs
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams


  • High mechanical aptitude and ability to gain knowledge of custom one-off vehicles.
  • Proven sales experience in B2B or B2G
  • Ability to adapt to long sales cycles.
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience working with CRM programs and MS Office and overall strong computer skills
  • Prior experience with fire apparatus, ambulances or specialty vehicles is a plus
  • Must be enthusiastic and passionate
  • Familiarity with various sales techniques and pipeline management
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Clean driving record and valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • Availability to travel as needed. Travel can be irregular and can be up to 50%.

Experience with air brakes, heavy truck components, hydraulics, water pumps, and aerial devices, complex electrical systems is expected. </p><p>Please submit resume, employment and salary history. </p><p>Qualified Applicants Only. </p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: </strong></p><ul><li>Repair and maintain various types of emergency vehicles, such as pumpers, aerials, ambulances and other vehicles. </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy truck chassis and fire components. </li><li>Major repairs on fire pumps, aerials, hydraulic systems, air brakes and electrical systems. </li><li>Travel to customers sites for repairs as needed. </li><li>Perform work as directed by Service Manager </li><li>Other duties as assigned and can vary daily </li><li>Ensures shop cleanliness and maintenance on a regular basis. </li><li>Processes and tracks repair orders. </li><li>Performs road tests on vehicles in order to assure roper operating levels. </li><li>Operates computer to document repair work and maintenance on a daily basis. </li><li>Monitors and advises all safety related issues related the shop area, vehicles and wherever maintenance is being performed. </li><li>Available to perform emergency repair work after hours including nights, weekends and holidays.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: </strong></p><ul><li> Reads and follows simple to complicated instructions, schematics and other information contained in repair manuals or the diagnosis and repair of fire and EMS vehicles and equipment.</li><li>Performs calculations and works with numbers to solve problems.</li><li>Reads and understands reference books and complicated procedures and manuals. </li><li>Pays attention to detail while ensuring crews observe safety precautions. </li><li>Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions.</li><li>Appropriately records repairs and parts used. </li></ul><p><strong>PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS: </strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED and 2+ year mechanical repair and maintenance work or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Class B or A CDL Driver’s License</li><li>ASE Mechanic certification preferred </li><li> Must obtain Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT)certification within 1 year of hire date. </li><li>Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, criminal background and MVR check. </li></ul><p><strong>ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </strong></p><ul><li> Work is performed in an automotive repair shop and on customer’s sites.</li><li>May be subject to bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling and lifting such as retrieving and replacing materials, supplies and inventory or when performing preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles and heavy equipment.</li><li>May be subject to exposure to extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and fumes common to automotive repair shops.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. </li></ul><p><strong>EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS UTILIZED: </strong></p><ul><li> Operates various emergency vehicles and equipment on an as-needed basis (for testing purposes)</li><li>Operates volt ohm meter, ampmeter, pressure gauges, nozzle and valve repair kits, calibrating tools for engines, rakes, micrometers and dial calipers, welders, grinders, torch, brazing rod, precision gauges, inspection and diagnostic equipment. </li><li>Must have own tools.</li></ul> Emergency Vehicle Group, Inc.
