Looking for an internship that blends your communication skills with your need to dabble in technology? We're looking for Technical Sales Interns who are interested in exploring a career as a Sales Engineer, connecting people and business through technology.

What is a Sales Engineer exactly...

Corporations rely on technology to run their businesses. Splunk Products allow customers to investigate, monitor, analyze and act upon their data with one platform.

The Sales Engineer is the technical member of the Customer Account Team. They are the trusted advisor to both customers and the Sales Representative as the Splunk team collaborates to find the right solution for the business scenarios that are most important to the customer. Sales Engineers tinker with the tech and translate it for a business ear. The ultimate goal, of course, is the success of the customer.

Hey, that sounds like me

You know how to express yourself and you like to talk to people and learn what makes them tick. Cloud technology, analytics and data fascinates you!

You're passionate about learning, and thrive when things get exciting and you tinker. You tinker with anything, be it mechanical or software. Helping people is satisfying to you, and the bigger the puzzle to get there, the better.

What you'll do as a Splunktern:

Splunk Sales Engineer Interns will get the opportunity to become familiar with the Splunk Product line through observatory sessions with professional Sales Engineers:

  • Partner with a Professional Sales Engineer as they work.

  • Shadow customer calls and help out with presentation development, workshops and/or technical concept proof events as the account team moves the customers towards the close of sale.

  • Meet weekly with other SE Interns and mentors, and discuss what you've learned.

  • Learn how to present technical concepts to customers and how to discover their needs.

  • Collaborate with peers in developing a knowledge resource for subsequent intern cohorts.

  • Polish your evangelizing technique, talking about our products and services to customers (without being pushy!)

  • Meet Splunkers from all walks of life and explore what Splunk has to offer.

Who are we looking for?

  • Students currently enrolled in a degree program or equivalent with a graduation/completion date of December 2023 or beyond.

  • The Splunk internship program runs for a minimum of 10 weeks, up to a maximum of 12 consecutive weeks with start dates between May and June 2023. Applicants should be available to participate full-time (40 hours/week) in an internship during this time.
