General Description:

ChemTreat's sales support opportunities are specific to water treatment and require an individual with technical knowledge within the industry. This water treatment technical representative position is focused on maintaining and expanding business base by maximizing the profitability of assigned customer accounts. Individuals are required to recommend and apply basic water treatment applications and solutions, as well as communicate program results to ChemTreat Account Managers and customers.

Qualified individuals in this role are expected to offer professional and high-quality customer and technical services at all times to customers. Further, they need to have familiarity with performing basic water testing, taking measurements, documenting results through reports, and sharing quantitative data with customers.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus un-capped commission potential. Additional benefits include company vehicle, phone, computer and business related expenses.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Regularly perform water analysis and engage in advanced problem-solving to apply the appropriate chemical solutions and monitor effects for additional treatment

  • Focus on performing required services, as dictated by contractual obligations

  • Consistently calibrate pumps and perform repairs that restore chemical feeds

  • Monitor product feed rates and their relative impact on the water sample and make necessary adjustments to treatment program when gaps are detected

Supplemental Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to junior technicians

  • Enter results into software program and communicate results utilizing service reports

  • Assist in water-related system improvement projects

  • Monitor product inventories

  • Utilize and maintain company equipment in good, clean condition

  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced problem-solving skills

  • Thorough knowledge of company product portfolio and applications uses

  • Limited supervision

  • Organized and self-motivated

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Capability of learning operating systems

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or equivalent skills

Educational &Experience

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science; Engineering or technical degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in water treatment, chemical or hydrocarbon industries

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate travel may be required dependent upon number of sites assigned

  • May require long hours & varied work schedules

  • The employee may be required to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time

  • The employee may be required to drive both short and long distances, not to exceed DOT regulations

  • The employee is sometimes required to maneuver drums weighing 250-800 pounds

  • The employee is occasionally required to lift 60 pounds

Working Conditions & Environment:

  • The employee is required to use ear plugs for hearing protection and all required PPE

  • The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment for deliveries and occasionally in extreme heat conditions

  • Site location may be at a boiler house

  • Outdoor site can be located at a cooling tower, water plant, wastewater plant, or a process area

  • Both Indoor and outdoor sites may have high noise levels

  • Collaborative working environment working; position touches all levels within the customer organization

Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide exceptional customer service * Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, returns, exchanges * Compute and process payment transactions/refunds using in-house Point of Sale system * Perform other administrative tasks as assigned * Process insurance claims * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products * Create and maintain patient files, following company and HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality. * Input customer information into computer system * Assess and interpret patients needs/wants based upon prescription requirements, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation, and suggest most appropriate products (i.e. frames, lens type, coatings) * Take necessary measurements (i.e. measuring the patients pupillary distance) * Prepare work order for lab ensuring all pertinent information is listed (i.e. patient information, prescription, lens size/type, measurements, special tinting or coating, etc.) * Pull correct lenses according to work order specifications * Inspect final product for accuracy; adjust completed glasses to fit patient using pliers, hands and heat if necessary to bend frames accordingly * Educate patient on how best to care for their glasses * Adjust/repair damaged frames, replace nose pads and missing screws * Price, stock and straighten merchandise Education and Experience Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED * Experience working in retail, customer service, or sales * Experience working in the optical industry is preferred Skills and Abilities: * Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift) * Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist * Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to approximately 25 lbs * Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills * Ability to operate basic office equipment * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing * Ability to correctly read and interpret prescription specifications and input into computer properly to ensure lenses are cut properly * Ability to multi-task * Ability to identify and solve problems, and facilitate problem solving * Attention to detail * Time management skills - ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently when there are multiple customers to assist * Ability to deal with stressful situations such as dissatisfied customers * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees Working Environment: * Work is performed primarily in an indoor retail store setting * High level of interaction with general public * Work is independent and with patients * Environment is often fast-paced and deadline oriented * Work with small manual tools (screwdriver, pliers, etc.) on a regular basis * Some exposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be allergenic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energy in the lab Eyemart Express Kennewick WA
