Position Purpose:

Cargill Protein Group has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Safety Facilitator to lead our Process Safety and Risk Management Programs. The candidate will be responsible for working closely with the Maintenance, Engineering, Refrigeration and Environmental Health Services team in their Facility location to implement and maintain all aspects of Process Safety and Risk Management in compliance. Facilitate continuous improvement in resource conservation. Develop and maintain energy and other utility KPI reporting in support of operations.

Principal Acountabilities:
50% Supports Process Safety and Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain all aspects of Ammonia Refrigeration Process Safety and Risk Management

  • OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) standard, 29 CFR 1910.119
    30% Utilities Maintenance

  • Assist in the operation and troubleshooting of the utility systems in coordination with the Utilities Supervisor.

  • Plan and schedule maintenance of plant utility systems using Cargill reliability model and predictive technologies.

  • Make budget recommendations to the Maintenance Manager

  • Makes recommendations for annual Capital asset replacement
    10% Training Programs

  • Administer training programs to develop operators, technicians and affected personnel

  • Assist in implementation of HAZMAT and other training programs used with PSM programs
    5% Collaborate with EHS and Reliability regarding the development and implementation of hazmat emergency response and predictive/ preventive maintenance programs.
    5% Provide leadership in regulated and non-regulated process programs to foster continuous improvement and development of programs.

Required

  • Associates degree in Science, Engineering or Safety field and/or 2 years' experience within a Process Safety

  • 1 2 years' Utilities Management role OR 3-5 years Ammonia Refrigeration working experience.

  • Able and willing to serve in hazardous material responses, including ability to wear respirator.

  • Able and willing to work in a hot/cold environment

  • Able and willing to climb stairs

Abilities / Success Factors

  • Strong organizational and computer/data management skills

Preferred

  • Experience supervising industrial contractors

  • Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (SAP)

  • Knowledge of OHSA Industrial Regulations

  • Ability to obtain CIRO Certification in 1 yr.

  • Experience with Auto CAD

  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller programming and automation system integration.

Job Purpose and Impact The Quality Superintendent is responsible for developing and implementing quality systems to assure customers that products are defect free and safe. In addition, you will work with other departments on root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventative measures to ensure that they are effective. We are seeking a proven leader who will work with senior staff to address customer requirements and concerns, as well as leading a collaborative effort on audits. At this level, you will lead and direct the work activity of a subordinate group of employees. This role will have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions. Key Accountabilities * Verification and/or maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality Systems, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP), prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment, and finished product. * Ensures adherence to corporate, regulatory, customer and facility food safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions. * You will lead quality focused audits (Corporate Food Safety, BRC, FSSC 22000, customer, regulatory). * Act as Food Safety Team leader by coordinating and developing the Food Safety Team (FST) and leading all aspects of the quality and food safety management system and management review. Ensure appropriate customer specifications and government regulations are met. * Investigate and follow up on quality and food safety incidents that occur in the plant to ensure they are reported and that corrective action and permanent corrections are taken. * Own the Management of Change (MOC) process, specifications, labels, and product quality reviews. * Review the work of a team of analysts or inspectors that collects data identifying potential quality failures. Evaluates quality of raw materials or components, in-progress goods, processes, or operations. * Provides leadership, development, and talent management activities for direct reports which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training, and budgeting. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience * Minimum 4 years of directly related work experience * Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience * Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed Preferred Qualifications * HACCP and SQF certification * Technical knowledge in the area of quality assurance, food safety, meat, poultry, or food science * Certification or training in auditing * Strong written and verbal communication and time management skills Cargill, Inc.
