GENERAL SUMMARY: Participates in research involving modern biological techniques to investigate various vascular disease processes, especially with respect to genomic approaches to understand the biology of blood vessels in health and disease. Conducts complex data analyses of high-throughput genomic experiments. Analyses involve substantial computational biology approaches and data science. Analyzes, transcribes and records data using statistics and data analytics. Performs literature searches and coordinates overall genomics research program.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision performs data analysis from high-throughput multi-modal screens, and scRNAseq.
Experimental techniques may include: cell culture, cell transfection/infection, multi-modal high-throughput screens,
Preparation of laboratory reagents and apparatus.
Records, organizes and analyzes data derived from experiments. Presents data to fellow lab members, manager, and principal investigator in a regular and timely fashion. Assists in preparing presentations and written articles for publication.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
BS or BA degree in physical sciences with previous experience in experimental biological systems.
Academic thesis may be considered appropriate experience if involved in research.
Excellent organizational and observation skills; detail-oriented.
Strong computer science background.
Requires very good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to coordinate efforts with other scientists, technicians, students.
Patience and a spirit of cooperation are necessary. The ability to constructively interact with members of a research team to pursue scientific goals is a necessity.
