Technical Research Assistant L Wet Lab BWH Neurology Chhatwal

We are looking for a Research Technician with molecular experience, microscopy experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to attain a high degree of independence in a new and dynamic research environment. Three central tasks will be 1) to assist in the processing of human brain tissue for immunohistological analysis, 2) to assist in the development of antibodies, 3) assist in the acquisition, banking, and analysis of human blood samples. Qualified candidates must have laboratory experience in histology, immunohistochemistry, image analysis, molecular biology and biochemistry.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Performs immunohistochemistry and microscopy.

2.Maintains tissue cultures and performs molecular biology techniques including sequencing, cloning, and viral transfections.

3.May handle animals (including stereotactic surgeries) .

4.Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics.

5.Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment.

6.Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.

7.All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in a biological/physical science required.

Ideally 1-2 years of previous experience in a research environment.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

2.Sound degree of computer literacy

3.Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics

4.Good interpersonal and communication skills

5.Ability to demonstrate professionalism
