We are a looking for a leader to deliver recruiting strategies in support of Vulcan's technical talent acquisition plans. Because of Vulcan's wide range of ambitious technology initiatives and our relentless discipline towards developing technical solutions to tackle some of the world's hardest problems, we are looking for a recruiting leader to understand the business goals and develop new and innovative talent strategies. The successful candidate will bring experience recruiting in a competitive market, a strong business acumen, depth of technical recruitment strategies, combined with a passion for building teams and developing people. The ability to develop strong partnerships with business leaders is imperative to success in this role.

The Technical Recruiting Lead will bring best practices and an understanding of the rapidly evolving technical talent marketplace. The ability to create and implement effective sourcing strategies that focus on building long-term relationships with technical talent is critical as we relentlessly improve and develop our Vulcan candidate experience.

In this role you'll get to

  • Create and drive staffing strategies that form a partnership with technology leaders to execute and deliver against the plan.

  • Measure the success of the technology recruiting function, using data and analytics to audit and adjust to optimize performance.

  • Contribute to the broader talent acquisition strategies across the Vulcan organization.

  • Help build the technical recruiting brand both inside and outside the organization.

  • Develop value-added HR recruiting strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners to meet business objectives, especially in the areas of resourcing analysis, and the creation of recruiting plans that anticipate and meet targeted growth goals.

  • Analyze and utilize recruiting data to drive decisions.

  • Innovate the recruiting process and support business team project goals and strategies. Examples include developing an innovative and sustainable sourcing and placement strategy across a variety of challenging, competitive positions.

  • Drive results with passion, thought and action. Operate with the ability to think about the longer term impact and acting for the benefit of company objectives.

  • Support the growth and development of the technical recruiting team; mentor and coach team members.

  • Travel estimated around 10%.

The skills, experience and education you'll need to nail this job

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 8 plus years' relevant experience, OR, equivalent years work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience driving the ideation, implementation and on-going optimization of business-wide talent acquisition programs, systems and best practices, while leveraging data and metrics in all aspects of evaluation and development.

  • Track record of success in facilitating the identification and attraction of industry leading talent for immediate business needs, as well as for critical long-term talent planning and pipelining.

  • Experience working with essential tools of the trade, including applicant tracking systems, and internet sourcing tools, along with coaching a recruiting team to deliver results across all channels.

  • Experience creating, measuring and scaling workflow between candidates, hiring managers and the recruiting team.

  • Strong business acumen, and experience working with large, complex organizations during periods of growth and change.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as influencing skills.

  • Proven experience collaborating with HR Business Partners to address complex/sensitive issues.
