The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.


Perspecta has an immediate need for a Talent Acquisition Consultant in Omaha, Nebraska to provide recruiting support our Defense Group. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience working in a similar capacity be expected to perform the following:

  • Maintain relationships with hiring managers with select US Public Sector business segment(s); develops relationships with key decision-makers.

  • Drives the achievement of the hiring targets for business segment(s), including time to fill, cost per hire, graduate, diversity and hiring manager and candidate satisfaction.

  • Manages the beginning to end staffing process within business segment(s); implements sourcing strategies, screens candidates, provides a short list of candidates, coordinates interviews, and creates offer letters.

  • Counsels with managers on the hiring process and ensures that managers are in compliance with corporate and government policy.

  • Provides support on hiring initiatives where there is staffing impact.

  • Uses significant business knowledge and subject matter expertise to contribute to the execution of the staffing strategy, including talent attraction, hiring, relocation, and the contingent workforce.

  • Will require some local travel for job fairs and meetings


Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

  • Strong relationship management skills for internal customers and candidates (business / hiring managers / HR / Staffing stakeholders) and external (candidates, vendors etc.)

  • Experience recruiting in the Public Sector/DoD/Government sector

  • Prior experience recruiting for Cleared/Clearable candidates

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Expert in interviewing and selection skills and techniques

  • Strong team-working skills, partners and collaborates effectively with all stakeholders though the Recruitment process

  • Results and performance and performance driven - makes high level of contribution to Recruitment activities, able to work to deadlines and manage priorities

  • Operational excellence in recruiting processes and systems.

  • Excellent customer service skills Knowledge of regulatory environment i.e. immigration/discrimination, Recruitment policy knowledge, employment legislation

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the businesses in which Perspecta competes for talent

Job Description Summary The TA Recruiter role provides recruiting support with full responsibility for candidate phone screens, assessments, offers and managing the hiring process for non-exempt and lower level exempt positions. Essential Job Functions * Work with Hiring Managers to understand position requirements, set expectations, and maintain communications throughout the talent acquisition process * Develop position profiles and postings that are attractive to potential candidates * Review internal and external candidate's resumes and assess their fit. * Conduct phone screens, provide candidate assessments, and recommend viable candidates to hiring manager for further consideration * Source candidates through job postings, referrals, and direct sourcing using proactive tactics (social media, networking, and cold calling, etc.) * Lead candidate interview feedback session; provide follow up on interview as necessary * Manage all candidate communications and information to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the Talent Acquisition process * Follow up with feedback to external candidates who were interviewed and all internal candidates Other Job Duties * Lead HR Coordinator and/or Hiring Managers Assistant in scheduling of candidate telephone and in person interviews * Manage all candidate tracking and status updates in the Applicant Tracking System. * Conduct reference checks on top candidates; extend verbal offer, offer letter and manage pre-hire on boarding process * Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience * Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. * May have practical knowledge of project management. * Requires 5 years minimum prior relevant experience. Education * High School Diploma or GED Required Skills * Some direct sourcing experience preferred. * Strong customer service skills. * Strong relationship building skills. * Strong communication skills (both oral and written). * Strong work ethic and sense of urgency. * Technology savvy; experience utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) products. * Experience with an ATS system; Taleo preferred. * Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
