We have a client currently seeking an experienced Technical Publications Manager deliver on projects that result in achieving critical strategic goals. The successful Technical Publications Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business efficiency.
The role requires involvement in the definition, planning, management, and delivery of various projects that enable L2 Defense to expand its portfolio and its footprint in the Integrated Logistics field. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products and lead a team of talented tech writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts. This position is located Edgewood, MD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a team of technical writers in executing all contract requirements.
Oversee the process of technical publications from planning to delivery
Define and maintain the information architecture with a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
Define standards and quality assurance for publications, including updates
Work with internal teams to obtain an understanding of the documentation requirements
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
Plan, develop, organize, and document operational procedures and manuals
Review manuals and data to ensure editorial and format consistency
Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
Produce accurate and timely reporting of technical publications status throughout its life cycle
Recognize and coordinate appropriate escalations
Support identification of organizational & business improvement opportunities using quantitative analysis to drive decision making
Develop knowledge of systems, network software, hardware, database and applications, as well as, hardware/software configurations
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 10-15 years of relevant /logistics experience.
10 years experience involving direct customer interaction.
15+ years proven working experience in technical writing
Understanding of Logistics Operations and Documentation.

Stakeholder management skills working with operational, development and non-technical teams
Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills
Strong organizational abilities
Competency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Arbortext, and SharePoint
Self-motivated and highly ambitious
Fun loving, positive attitude excellent interpersonal skills
Experience with products deployed in both premise and cloud solutions
Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
