Job Summary

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible for leading cross-functional teams in the development and productization of Masterflex pump systems targeted for biopharma customers. Following the Masterflex Phase-Gate Development Process, the TPM ensures new products are developed on-time, within cost targets, and per specification.

Guide cross-functional core teams in developing high quality embedded (software / firmware / electrical / mechanical) designs in support of pump drive and sensor product roadmaps. The TPM will deliver solutions which meet or exceed customer expectations by following the Masterflex Phase Gate Development Process

  • Manage multiple technical programs, feasibility through production, by following a regimented ISO9001 phase-gate development process

  • Provide high-level project status update presentations suitable for executive management

  • Lead by example - aligning and influencing key program stakeholders to achieve program objectives

  • Practice and promote proactive risk discovery and mitigation

  • Enforce adherence of the Masterflex brand, quality, and reputation during all stages of development

  • Contribute to the technology roadmap… ensure that new features under investigation track with the product development roadmap

  • Investigate opportunities to improve product development efficiencies

  • Stay abreast of latest technology advances and evaluate potential for future product features

  • Contribute to the corporate IP portfolio

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years previous experience as a Technical Project Manager

  • Proven track record of developing medium/high volume embedded electro-mechanical products

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering or Applied Physics from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited university

  • Previous hands-on design experience as a team lead or subject matter expert in one of the following technical disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or Mechatronics

  • A proven track record of managing technical programs, feasibility through production, by following a regimented ISO9001 or 13485 phase-gate development process

  • Process a "systems" mindset and business curiosity

  • Ability to reach across organizational boundaries to remove program roadblocks

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project software

  • Thorough understanding of modern project management tools and techniques: managing to critical path; proactive risk management and mitigation; capacity planning; GANTT; RACI; Agile SW development

  • Experience with electro-mechanical product regulatory and compliance requirements (FCC, U/L, CE, etc.)

  • Ability to lead by influencing and aligning internal and external resources

  • Familiarity with high-volume mechanical and electrical production fabrication processes

  • Experience working with outside consultants and universities to support development activities

  • DESIRED: PMP certification

  • DESIRED: Experience with sensors/sensing systems; wired/wireless/industrial connectivity
