Technical Project Manager


As part of the SPARK Product and Engineering Group, the Technical Project Manager will be responsible for driving project planning and execution, leading the engineering teams to build project schedules and plans, executing on those plans and, ultimately delivering on the objectives for projects and programs in the Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and/or Unified Endpoint Security (UES) portfolio of products. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a solid background with enterprise software who can leverage that experience by applying sound critical thinking and judgment to a broad set of operational challenges associated with running large-scale projects and programs.


Lead Projects

  • Work closely with senior leaders, development/test managers, and peer project managers to lead projects, driving appropriate decisions to ensure assigned products or product components are delivered according to plan and that risk mitigation strategies are built into the plan

  • Plan, organize, lead and monitor the milestone activities of the project teams while maintaining oversight of the program schedule, delivery, and risks associated with all expected deliverables

  • Work closely with Product Management and Product Owners to ensure requirements are well understood, documented and tracked

  • Work closely with the development team leaders to ensure work is sized and scheduled with the teams into a realistic end to end integrated project plan

  • Perform risk identification, assessment and management throughout the entire lifecycle of the project

  • Turn data into insights with supporting conclusions and recommendations

  • Provide regular visibility (written and verbal) into end to end program status and metrics in order to keep lines of communication open among all project stakeholders

Lead & Mentor the Project Team

  • Nurture a project team culture of proactive communication, efficiency and problem-solving in a collaborative and transparent environment

  • Work closely with executive stakeholders and senior management decision-makers to align project, program and organizational vision and objectives with execution

  • Manage and promote effective key strategic internal and external relationships with project stakeholders, senior management and delivery teams


The successful candidate will have a passion for quality & excellence and will promote the same with their peers. They will demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the ability to guide the project(s) to deliver innovative solutions. They will be a strong proponent of bridging knowledge between groups throughout the organization and the company.

  • Clear passion for delivery and customer satisfaction, driven by the ability to see the "big picture"

  • 5 years of experience with program/project management and/or project leadership through the full project lifecycle including experience with Project Management methodologies and application of Scrum & Agile principles

  • Expertise in using JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office products

  • Worked within a distributed organization both geographically and cross-functionally

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team in a cross-functional environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strengths in meeting objectives through influence, facilitation and team building

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key product stakeholders

  • Ability to handle stressful situations with a level-headed approach, and to effectively leverage and balance workload of available resources

  • Ability to apply innovative, creative and conceptual thinking as needed to analytical tasks

  • Motivated, resourceful, team player

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline


  • Enterprise Software development experience - preferably in various roles such as software development, testing, and/or support functions

  • PMP certification or equivalent

  • Familiarity with BlackBerry UES & UES suite of software or equivalent applications
