About Salesforce

We're Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too - driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good - you've come to the right place.

Description

Within the Marketing organization, the Brand Technology team delivers a robust and innovative technology stack that enhances in-person, digital, and on-demand experiences for our marketing events and conferences around the world, as well as other marketing initiatives across global content and the Customer 360 product marketing teams. We provide industry-leading platforms and personalized solutions that connect our target audiences to the content and experiences they need, when they need it, where they need it. These solutions help to funnel users, attendees, and customers/prospects into deeper relationships with Salesforce - whether deeper into the events ecosystem or into the plethora of Salesforce value propositions: Trailhead, AppExchange, or the product buying journey. Our vast portfolio ranges from the Salesforce events mobile app and Salesforce+ to generative AI-powered personalization solutions and platforms that accelerate hands-on learning and networking.

Brand Technology is looking for a technical program manager (TPM) who will be responsible for leading strategic cross-functional and operational programs supporting our architecture and data transformation. You will also have a front row seat to see how Brand Technology runs some of the best events in the world, getting an insiders view into why Salesforce events are the industry benchmark for experiential marketing.

Who You Are

  • Keep the team moving on track (you know what "the track" is), on time (you are keeper of the timelines), and on target (you ensure the work is connected to the business objectives).

  • See the big picture of what's happening across the playing field and can see around corners (you can predict what's coming or where problems may arise, and be ready for it).

  • Ensure that all of the team's wildest dreaming has a purpose and can be communicated in a consumable fashion.

  • The go-to person with all the answers - or know who is the next best person with the answers.

  • Got the team covered, whether it's sprinting through quick milestones or pacing yourself for the long haul.

  • Are undeterred by ambiguity and a complex stakeholder map.

  • Motivated by purposeful challenges to help the team realize maximum impact.

  • Love to wear multiple hats with a passion for balancing many priorities without loss of efficiency.

  • Highly functional in an active, frequently shifting, and energizing environment.

  • Comfortable bending between the tactical and strategic.

  • Outstanding executive presence and communication.

  • Build the relationships to make things happen.

  • Create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and learning.

  • Enjoy a hyper-transparent flow of information, feedback, conversation, and ideas.

Your Impact

Success will be measured by the ability of the program manager to manage the program team to deliver on the vision, scope, and success factors of the program, on-schedule with a high level of quality while meeting expectations of the program stakeholders:

  • Articulate program objectives and success factors, create the appropriate program structure, develop complex yet realistic schedules/timelines, and bring together the program team necessary to execute on the vision of the program.

  • Execute, iterate, manage multiple planning/release timelines and oversee top down release management - from planning to delivery to retrospectives - working 2-3 releases out.

  • Be the key driver to ensure business goals are met, risks are mitigated, and the team has a clear path for smooth delivery.

  • Be a catalyst within the organization, someone who can help advance our product, technology, and operations strategy globally and drive others in the organization to change.

  • Secure cross-functional alignment across multiple internal teams and external vendors.

  • Manage stakeholders on programs by understanding what it important to each one, balancing competing objectives, and articulating points of contention with a goal to resolve them.

  • Pro-actively identify, manage, and track programs action items, budget implications, risks, and issues to ensure there is traction to avoid, mitigate, transfer, accept, or close them while always being transparent with stakeholders about the risk posture of the program.

  • Communicate clearly, often, and through multiple mediums (meeting facilitation, emails, Slack posts, presentations) regarding status of the various programs individually and taken together. Executive-level differentiated communication is required.

  • Develop strong partnerships with key functional team members (Product Owners, Product Managers, Operations leads, UX leads, Engineering, Architecture) to drive focus on business goals. Be a trusted partner for executive and senior management to ensure program success.

  • Lead "program/feature" dependencies across multiple teams, scrum teams, functions, divisions, internal partners, and external vendors.

  • With a sense of urgency, anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent project teams from delivering on project goals.

  • Help/contribute to bi-weekly SteerCo and monthly program reviews and updates, diving deep into current state of project goals, risks, critical issues, executive leadership asks.

  • Ensure processes and procedures are documented and kept up to date including but not limited key SOP documentation, demos of current experiences.

  • Maintain team tools, internal best practices, and ensure team members are using tools effectively and consistently.

  • Manage feedback loop across users, stakeholders, and vendors to streamline product development.

  • Celebrate the success of the program when all the work is complete, running all retros (product, engineering, vendors, program), and summarizing the findings to the Portfolio TPM.

  • Ensure measures of success/KPIs are appropriately scoped and tracked through the program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.).

  • 6+ years experience in operational and project/program management.

  • Proven ability in creating and managing strategic alliances and interpersonal relationships balancing conflicting stakeholder requirements.

  • Operational and project management rigor to consistently communicate accurate information and drive consensus.

  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and team members with the ability to speak truth to power.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while managing high-volume, high-intensity execution responsibilities.

  • Experience with the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.

Preferred Requirements

  • PMP certified project management certification (or other similar certification).

  • Experience working with marketing teams or having been part of a marketing organization.

  • Ability to master technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program.
