MetroStar Systems is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) that is passionate about bringing creative software solutions to end customers. Our Civilian Business Unit is responsible for providing IT services and support for Federal Civilian agencies. We develop cutting edge technical solutions utilizing emerging technologies for our customers. Come be a game changer and join our team!

The the majority of work will be completed on customer site located in Alexandria, Virginia.

You're a great fit if

  • You use PMBOK/PMI best practices to provide full SDLC Project Management

  • You enjoy leading Agile Teams on large scale enterprise level development

  • You're passionate about delivering mission critical Enterprise solutions

You'll love our company if

(This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

  • You have 5+ years of experience with software development program planning/management.

  • You have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • You have experience working in an Agile development environments running Agile ceremonies.

  • You are experience in problem solving and leadership skills to motivate employees to reach the mission and goals.

  • You have experience with leading large teams of 100+ resources consisting of project managers, business analysts and technical resources.

  • You have experience with monitoring and managing the financials of an IT program which is larger than $75 million in revenue.

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field.

  • You have the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

  • Technical background in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture or similar.

  • You have CSM or PMI-ACP Certification

  • Hold an active Secret or Top Secret Government clearance

What your day will look like:

  • You'll work with technical teams to provide development, modernization and enhancements to mission critical software applications

  • You'll bridge any gaps between the Technical and Business Teams.

  • You'll develop, cultivate and manage customer relationships.

  • You'll maintain lines of communication with supported government COR/COTR.

  • You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining project plans.

  • You'll manage potential impacts of project scope changes and make recommendations to software development projects.

  • You'll escalate risks of the project to appropriate government and company stakeholders

The IT PM is expected to maintain current project management job knowledge. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual with a strong IT background and will be required to work closely with technical partners. The selected candidate must possess a good mix of both technical and programmatic skills as well as strong communication skills. The IT Project Manager will work with the program management group, customer, product owners, project integrators and development teams to create related documentation, schedules, and milestones to provide status reports to Sponsor Program Manager, customer, and executive level stakeholders. Project Manager will serve as a liaison between the developers and customers.
