Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience with software development life cycle.

  • Experience working with mobile wireless technologies including Bluetooth, Wifi, or 5G LTE.

  • Experience with carrier certification, and experience with standards, testing, and certification protocols and requirements, working with carriers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience managing software development for consumer hardware product.

  • Experience managing projects and partnership between Asia and US.

  • Experience working with Android ecosystem and familiar with Android development.

  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence, collaborate, and deliver solutions in a highly complex, always-changing environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will manage the expansion of our current modem software platform and the development of our future platform. You will drive the engineering execution and process, managing new features rollout and bug fixes to internal and external partners, managing cross teams dependencies, and managing external vendor complexities.

In this role, you'll be working closely with a cross-functional team of Engineering, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and other Technical Program Management within Android, Carrier Engineering, and Hardware Engineering in Devices and Services Product Area, and external vendors.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with carrier Technical Account Managers, carrier certification, carrier engineering, Pixel Mobile Wireless engineers and other Pixel/Android hardware/software Technical Program Managers and external partners to define milestones, drive and lead engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and track tasks to completion, and manage internal and external trials.

  • Drive external partners and internal teams to deliver features and bug fixes.

  • Track and prioritize feature/surface/system development work from concept to launch.

  • Identify risks and corresponding mitigation plans, and put into motion the solutions.

  • Identify process gaps and quickly set-up/bootstrap lightweight processes to fill gaps.
