As an Electrical Hardware Technical Program Manager at Oculus, you will lead multidisciplinary programs through the product development cycle. You will develop next generation hardware to move forward our industry-leading virtual reality systems. You will establish requirements with internal and external customers, manage program schedules, identify risks, mitigation plans, and clearly communicate them to program stakeholders. We look for technical program managers who have a strong technical foundation, are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced innovative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the systems electrical, product design and manufacturing engineering teams, enabling the definition and execution of next generation hardware.

Create development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead-times and business needs.

Manage communication within and between internal and external engineering teams.

Develop milestone schedule, communicate program statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks.

Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery.

Manage delivery of hardware for the development builds and ensure qualification to meet mass production timelines.

Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables, including specifications and test plans.

Ensure program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.

Contribute to resource planning to ensure program success.

Up to 20% travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Electrical Engineering field or equivalent experience.
    3+ years experience working as a technology development program manager for consumer electronics.
    2+ years experience working on hardware module projects.

Experience with phase gate approach to technology development projects.

Experience with electrical system development, validation and characterization processes.

Experience with program and issue tracking and version control software.

Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and projects.

Building8 seeks a Technical Program Manager (Quality Assurance) who will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office. RESPONSIBILITIES * Collecting business and systems requirements from internal and external customers. Create specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. Lead and coordinate Quality Assurance efforts between internal teams and outside merchants and vendors to develop optimal solutions. Make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. Develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * 5+ years of work experience in program management. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge in the practical application of program management principles and tools. Experience working with ODM as well as JDM development models. Experience taking projects and breaking them down into pieces, develop specifications, then deliver them in a manner. Experience managing efforts in quality assurance and system level testing. Experience in delivery and commercialization in consumer electronics.
