The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.

Job Summary

Serve as the primary point of contact for a specific innovation initiative with customers, partners, and internal teams. Responsible for the detailed product backlog of one or more agile development teams.

Work closely with Information Technology Group Leadership and Application Services Team, Campus Services Business Units, and the Office of Information Technology to ensure development of products that meet or exceed customer expectations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Department leadership, management and staff, and Institute staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Translate high-level business requirements from customers into technical user stories.

Job Duty 2 -

Lead stakeholder meetings to identify opportunities and product priorities.

Job Duty 3 -

Make the final acceptance decision on all implemented user stories based on whether or not the intended business value has been achieved.

Job Duty 4 -

Continuously groom the development backlog through recurring iterations of user story development and prioritization.

Job Duty 5 -

Prioritize development backlog items based on product strategy, business value to the customer, implementation cost, and resource availability.

Job Duty 6 -

Review and demonstrate product functionality with customers and internal stakeholders.

Job Duty 7 -

Evaluate and articulate development team results and identify opportunities for further product and feature improvements.

Job Duty 8 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

Five to seven years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS

This job requires: strong skills in writing formal business/functional requirements and user stories, creating mock-ups, customer and user intuition, managing multiple assignments and aligning them with business priorities and deadlines, working in an agile development environment, effective and persuasive communications, leading meetings and making presentations, and problem solving with a positive attitude. The ability to grasp big-picture vision, evaluate various approaches to implement effective solutions, take end-to-end ownership of feature releases, work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and work in cross-functional teams toward mutual success are also required.
