PCTEL - Operations is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to serve as the primary product expert for their assigned product lines, and lead, facilitate and drive market research, business case development and product definitions that result in a successful product.
Selected candidate will perform the following:
Responsible for performance and growth of assigned product lines.
Responsible for establishing product pricing and maintaining margin goals for the assigned product lines.
Identifies market potential, growth opportunities and revenue goals for the product lines.
Determines the individual products required for the lines by identifying portfolio gaps or market needs.
Develops, maintains and continually updates a 2-year (minimum) product roadmap
Performs market research, competitive analysis and product platform definition.
Develop hands-on, in-depth knowledge of competitive products and maintain technical analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses
Participates in customer visits and meetings to promote PCTEL's Connected Solutions capabilities and evaluates customer needs.
Coordinates the product development lifecycle across the functional groups in the organization.
Works with the development engineering team to effectively communicate customer's key features and/or requirements for new products or system designs.
Develops life-cycle management plans for products of responsibility, including inventory management and margin optimization plans.
Maintains up-to-date, accurate information on products of responsibility in PCTEL's ERP and PLM systems.
Manages and reports on product platform performance against planned goals to cross functional areas.
Works closely with the Marketing team to provide technical information for marketing collateral.
Involved in customer technical presentations demonstrating key features and benefits of the products; conveys Connected Solutions' value proposition for PCTEL's products and services. Includes participation in trade show activities, technical writing or review of marketing materials (application notes or specification documents).
Document answers to customer technical questions that cannot be answered by sales staff or product support specialists using existing documentation
Prepares product line performance reports and metrics that will be presented in quarterly management reviews
Participates in the development and implementation of target account strategies.
Participates in the strategic planning of the overall product offerings of the company.
The position requires the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; or bachelor of science degree with at least 5 years of product or project management experience.
Familiarity with RF/electromagnetic or mechanical engineering tools and development processes
Experience with antennas, wireless networks and telecommunication systems
Three to Ten years' experience managing hardware product lines
Ability to build sustained customer and partner relationships based on trust and delivery of commitments
Must have experience with cross-functional teams that include engineering, sales, marketing, production, supply chain and quality staff
Advanced interpersonal and communications skills at all levels, command respect internally and externally and gain support from management across the organization.
Advanced organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced skills in MS Office.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
