These innovative systems are designed for the benefit of diverse communities and can be installed virtually anywhere. This is a Supportive role to the Heads of Departments (HODs) in the task of buying. Identify suppliers that can deliver manufacturing components which meet the required design parameters and quality to fulfil the company warranty statement on products sold. This is extended to sourcing suppliers that will enable the company to complete the onsite installation of the companies Non-Sewered Sanitation Systems to a high standard of quality. Build relationships with suppliers to understand their quality standards, capacity and delivery lead times.Minimum Requirements:Own transport requiredNational Diploma in Supply Chain Management or similarMinimum of 3 years in a buying role within the manufacturing industry and project environments.Experience sourcing suppliers and parts in African countriesKnowledge in Water components and Electrical componentsExcellent knowledge in ISO9001 standardsStrong numeracy and financial acumenEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholdersAssertiveness and strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms and pricingProblem-solving and decision-making abilitiesAnalytical skills to assess market trends, supplier performance, and cost analysisProactive and resourcefulProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Pastel AccountingExcellent knowledge in Procurement policies and proceduresQuality control procedures with a working knowledge of ISO9001Supply chain fundamentals, including inventory management, lead times, and distribution channelsDetail-oriented and committed to qualityHighly organized, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-makingTrustworthy and ethical in supplier interactionsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamResilient and adaptable to handle changing priorities and urgent requestsRegular interaction in a factory environmentOccasional site visits to installations in urban and rural locations across South Africa, alongside Business Development ConsultantsPotential for occasional travel in AfricaDuties and Responsibilities:Continuously seek new suppliers to improve the supply chainIdentify regional suppliers, such as contractors and solar providers, for installation supportSource regional suppliers for water deliveriesAnalyse and evaluate suppliers regularly according to ISO9001 standardsMaintain supplier contact information and contractsTrack supplier lead times and share with storesObtain multiple quotes where possibleSelect suppliers that meet company objectives of design parameters, quality, price, and serviceCollaborate with the order placer to choose the appropriate supplierAcquire necessary authority to place ordersReceive purchase orders from company departments, capture them in the accounting software, and communicate with suppliersFollow up on purchase orders by reviewing outstanding orders regularlyReceive stock with the stores team to ensure quality standards are metFollow up with suppliers on any quality issuesMaintain records of warranty policies and certificates for received itemsHandle warranty administration and documentation with suppliersMonitor the movement of warranty stock between suppliers and the companyCommunicate professionally with all suppliersTreat suppliers with dignity and respectBuild strong relationships across the companyShare supplier feedback and provide input on necessary changesFollow all company policies and proceduresPlease do not apply using Scanned CVs, no supporting documentation is required at this point, this will be requested later.Kontak Recruitment Disclaimer:
