Position Technical Operations Analyst:

Summary:

We are looking for a full-time employee to join our team supporting our Critical Communications shared service production platform across Taylor Corporation. The role requires a hands-on professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working to drive projects, improve infrastructure systems, and research better tools and methods for the timely production of business critical documents. The successful candidate will be a technology expert, adept at managing multiple simultaneous projects, and comfortable leveraging centralized corporate and local operating company resources.

Qualifications:

  • A candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of professional technology experience in digital print and/or 100% mail production

  • A candidate should have experience working within Windows and Linux server environments

  • A candidate who has experience optimizing production workflow and system environments is strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of prepress and conventional printing are pluses

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to assist in the support of a production environment. This involves both the planning to avoid incidents and responding to remediate incidents following technical failures

  • Responsible to provide subject matter expertise in document composition, precomposed output manipulation, and production workflow

  • Responsible to have and maintain a practical working knowledge and experience with basic infrastructure tools including: file servers, virtualization schemes, Active Directory permissions, FTP & sFTP file transfer methods, and secure computing environments

  • Responsible to confer with technical contacts regarding how to resolve system issues

  • Responsible to research new technology, and recommend its appropriate implementation

  • Responsible to maintain a visible project list, and individual project status register

  • Responsible to coordinate and communicate with Taylor-wide resources to share information, documentation, and subject matter expertise to minimize roadblocks to project progress

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio

  • Adaptability and flexibility

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to learn quickly

Location:

Ideally this position will be located in the Twin Cities metro area, though remote working is possible for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be required to travel to distributed production facilities in the United States, typically less than twice a year.
