1.Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job

• Execute the established Colour management procedures & contribute to the reforms in the area of entire Decorative colour offer by streamlining Colour offer expansion, shade card approval process, shade standard maintenance & G-data/Mixman III / Mix2winNext management.

• To develop colors formulae for POST and Institutional accurate and consistent color delivery for decorative paints business.

• Carry out colour benchmarking for better market understanding. Support SA & ASEAN region for different regional projects related to colour.

• OTIFQ delivery of experimental plan and technical deliverables, as well as VC deliverables.

• Assist in creating and sustaining competitive advantage against market Leaders.

• Work on INNOVATION & RENOVATION projects for the organization plan.

• Develop product know-how and understanding of customer needs, market insights and practice.

• Compliance to global AkzoNobel HSE&S and PS policies and Sustainability requirements for NPDs is mandatory.

2.Responsibilities

1.HS&S: Act HSE&S responsible and assist Lab Manager /Steward to ensure and implement safe working conditions, consistent with global HSE&S & Sustainability policies.

2.Take individual responsibility for planning and conducting experimental work plan for new product / colourant development & localization and assist project manager to OTIFQ achievement of project deliverables, to meet stakeholders' needs.

3.Contribute to leveraging globally available technologies & repeatable colour models.

4.Assist product owner in providing technical colour support to customer complaints.

5.Accurate preparation and recording of experimental work with clear and concise

presentation of key technical data.

6.Colourants processing & development in lab for support to different tinting system.

7.Audit plant QA for colour processes & protocol compliance.

3.Level of Autonomy

• Management of lab testing and data representation for different projects; Planning of individual's work schedule based on stipulated timelines.

• Knowledge of colour softwares, database management and colour measurement instruments.

5.Job Requirements

1.B Tech or M Tech (Chemical technology / polymer / surface coating technology) / B.Sc. Or M.Sc. (Chemistry) from reputed Institute along 3 - 5 years' experience.

2.Business and Functional Skills / Knowledge Essential / Innovative in work approach Hands-on work

approach and commitment Knowledge on pigment performance and co-relation with lab test parameters.

3.Very good analytical ability Conversant with Paint testing and Test Methods

4.Good knowledge on Chemistry / Polymer Chemistry / Paint formulation

5.Sensitive to HSE&S / Sustainability

6.System orientation and conversant with work planning process

Desirable: Team working, Workable knowledge on statistical design of experiment

Experience 1. Min 3-5 yrs. in organization of repute 2. Field of Experience: Coatings preferably in water-based paints, Construction Chemicals, latex etc.
