ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure that all PSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met.
Demonstrate safe work practices and follow all PSI safety rules and policies.
Demonstrate CORE values (Caring, One-Shipyard, Responsible, and Evolving).
Develop, evaluate and update all welding and mechanical related training curriculum and hands-on exercises, and ensure consistent formatting and structure.
Oversee (order/repair) all related training materials, equipment and supplies.
Support production and coordinate all weld certifications for employees and contractors, as needed.
Coordinate mechanical related training for maintenance (Pumps, Fans, HVAC, etc.).
Coordinate weld certification test with PSI Quality, to include periodic training opportunities (break test, x-ray, QC classroom instruction).
Responsible for maintaining accurate training records, student's attendance records, and test results.
Responsible for overseeing and documenting apprentice progress when assigned to Production (Roving Instructor).
Support Training Coordinator with regards to the Apprenticeship Program (JAC Reviews, Data Collection, Interviews, Recruiting, etc.).
Take and pass the 2G/3G weld test.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILTY
This position is responsible for supervising apprentices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in a technical related field or 5 years' equivalent experience
Provable welding technical knowledge in both Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Flux-Cored Arc Welding
Examples: CAWI, Certified Associate Welding Inspector and/or CWE, Certified Welding Educator from the AWS, American Welding Society (preferred)
Documented instructional experience in a formal training program (preferred)
State Teacher's Certificate (preferred)
Vocational Certification (preferred)
MS Office Proficient (Outlook, Excel, Word) (required)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an onsite, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.
