This new leadership position will align with Global Treasury Management, the largest and fastest-growing business in Corporate & Commercial Banking (CCB). This area has the highest level of Capex activity and business change and requires a senior PMO leader who can align with the business and development head to provide project delivery results that will align with business growth.


Ensures U.S. Bank's largest programs and projects are held to the leading practices in the Program/Project Management industry related to cost, schedule, scope, and quality. Oversees and is ultimately responsible for a team of Information Technology's most senior Program Managers who evaluate and coach on U.S. Bank's largest programs (Internet Channel, Fusion, Lockbox, etc.) as well as the balance of the project portfolio (annually 350 active projects and programs and 2 million hours of development) through active assessment, redirection and coaching. Provides coaching and development to less experienced program and project managers and works with various executives and staff to resolve resource and prioritization conflicts with a view toward properly accounting for objectives of both the program for which they are directly accountable as well as external programs and overall U.S. Bank goals and objectives.


  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 10 or more years of experience in project management and leadership activities.

  • Six or more years of managerial experience.


  • 3 or more years of project management experience managing multiple commercial/corporate Global Treasury Management programs.

  • 2 or more years of experience implementing and utilizing "Agile" and "Waterfall" project management methodologies.

  • 1 or more years of supervisory experience managing project managers.

  • Expert knowledge of assigned business line or functional area.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of project management.

  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Candidate will be responsible for ensuring stability, reliability, and recoverability of our Treasury Management solutions and corporate banking products. Duties will include oversight of and responsibility for all aspects of production support. Responsible for ensuring an agile, repeatable, and consistent methodology is followed for incident management, problem management, knowledge management, metrics quality control, and change control. As a manager of managers, this position is responsible for setting and implementing consistent vision and direction for all production support groups while ensuring efficient technology delivery. Candidate would be responsible for evolving and realizing our production support strategy, ensuring all resources have standardized tools, processes, and metrics, and a continual evolution of DevOps "shift left" and automation strategies. The candidate would also serve as a facilitator, identifying and eliminating obstacles from development teams to increase consistency and efficiency. Responsible for senior level communication of production issues, progress towards strategic vision, and quality of metrics, tools, and automation. Required Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * 8 years of Team Lead / Management in a technical environment * 5 years of Team Lead / Management of a production support team * 2 years of Agile project methodology leadership, preferably in a Scrum environment * 2 years of experience with ITIL processes * 24x7 On-Call Management escalation and support Preferred Technical Skills / Experience * Strong web application and mid-range based systems background * Development experience, particularly with financial systems inclusing but not limited to Java/J2EE, Microsoft, Redhat systems * Compute and network hardware experience, including cloud, load balancing, clustering, and fault analysis * DevOps Toolsets: Eclipse, WebSphere, Docker, git, Fortify, maven, Artifactory, Jenkins * Coordinating scheduling of complex batch processing, preferably using AutoSys * Utilizing and integrating systems with ServiceNow Preferred Professional Skills/Experience * Transformational leader – ability to affect major, enterprise-level change effectively * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, from staff to executive management * Financial Industry experience, preferably in Corporate and Commercial banking * Demonstrated technical, personnel, and project leadership and growth skills * Ability to present to and influence senior business line leaders and external clients * Project Management and Estimation – both Waterfall and Agile * Personnel management, including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions * Definition, monitoring, and enforcement of IT standards, procedures, policy * Ability to obtain Government Clearance is a must, IRS clearance is a plus Other * Regular (monthly to quarterly) travel within the Continental US US Bank Cincinnati OH
