This new leadership position will align with Global Treasury Management, the largest and fastest-growing business in Corporate & Commercial Banking (CCB). This area has the highest level of Capex activity and business change and requires a senior PMO leader who can align with the business and development head to provide project delivery results that will align with business growth.


Ensures U.S. Bank's largest programs and projects are held to the leading practices in the Program/Project Management industry related to cost, schedule, scope, and quality. Oversees and is ultimately responsible for a team of Information Technology's most senior Program Managers who evaluate and coach on U.S. Bank's largest programs (Internet Channel, Fusion, Lockbox, etc.) as well as the balance of the project portfolio (annually 350 active projects and programs and 2 million hours of development) through active assessment, redirection and coaching. Provides coaching and development to less experienced program and project managers and works with various executives and staff to resolve resource and prioritization conflicts with a view toward properly accounting for objectives of both the program for which they are directly accountable as well as external programs and overall U.S. Bank goals and objectives.


  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 10 or more years of experience in project management and leadership activities.

  • Six or more years of managerial experience.


  • 3 or more years of project management experience managing multiple commercial/corporate Global Treasury Management programs.

  • 2 or more years of experience implementing and utilizing "Agile" and "Waterfall" project management methodologies.

  • 1 or more years of supervisory experience managing project managers.

  • Expert knowledge of assigned business line or functional area.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of project management.

  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

VIEW JOBS 11/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-12T00:00 Overview Global Group Platform Leader- VP/GM Infection Prevention and Pleural & Peritoneal Access (PPA) LOCATION: Vernon Hills, IL The VP/GM, Infection Prevention and Pleural & Peritoneal Access (PPA) is responsible for the strategic direction and financial performance of the global platform group. This leader is responsible for leading, coaching, and engaging global, cross functional platform teams to deliver customer focused solutions for which will generate profitable growth for the business. He/she is accountable for setting the strategic direction for the platform group and executing the strategy globally across functions and regional business teams including engaging in research and/or clinical partnerships to provide innovative solutions to address the market needs. The Leader will be responsible for all aspects of product development and platform success, including pre-launch timelines and budget attainment, and post-launch operational and financial target achievement. This role will have direct reporting responsibility for leaders who manage the product portfolio and will also be responsible for the future vision and scope of the platforms. This leader will collaborate closely with the functional resources and regional teams aligned to support the business platforms. This role has global P&L responsibility to GP level for the platform group. The VP/GM, Infection Prevention and PPA reports to the WW BU President, Surgery and is a member of the Surgery BU Leadership Team. Summary of Position with General Responsibilities * Leads change and drives profitable growth for the Platform group through focus on customer solutions and embeds a strong customer centric focus into portfolio and resource decisions. * Is responsible for the global P&L of all in market products within the platform group. * Drives commercial success of the platform group including new product launches and uptake, in market product performance, product life cycle management and product service strategy in collaboration with Marketing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory and Regional leaders. * Ensures alignment of Global Business Platform group strategic objectives with the overall BU's strategic imperatives. * Works closely with other Global Business and Functional Leaders to ensure optimized use of shared resources and actively contributes to creating and executing the overall BU strategy. * Leads identification and selection of the most promising business opportunities for the platform. * Actively engages with customers and incorporate ongoing, dynamic customer insight; challenge key assumptions to drive rigorous execution. * Sets the short-term and long-term direction and strategies for the business platform group, including strategic planning for projected financial outcomes. * Establishes the ASR (strategic planning) and budgets, determining forecasts and delivering on the financial performance of the business platform group jointly with regional business leaders and the worldwide LT. * Monitors and ensures proper communication of relevant market trends, clinical practices, regulations and policy to ensure continuing strategic fit. * Develops and manages the Platform teams' worldwide manufacturing/supply chain needs jointly with Operations in setting both short and long term manufacturing strategy and capacity planning. * Develops the performance standards, norms and operating mechanisms of the cross-functional platform group leadership team to ensure team cohesion and effective communication. * Leads direct team and supports cross-functional resource decisions regarding associate career development recognizing that leadership happens at all levels and in line with critical capabilities for BD and BDI-Surgery. * Align and lead cross-functional teams to achieve common goals, including internal and external partners; Anticipate and break down cross-functional team barriers through clear communication and by working with functional managers to resolve issues together quickly. * Motivates, coaches and develops team members while focusing on building an inclusive culture within the team and across platform. * Defines and drives execution of platform group portfolio strategy, integrates product roadmap and priorities for specified market segment in partnership with Marketing, R&D and other key functions. * Maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, professional associations, and advisory boards in partnership with HEOR. * Responsible for setting the proper leadership tone, and maintaining the highest levels of ethical, legal, and regulatory compliance. Essential Job Functions * 10+ years of combined related commercial, marketing and P&L experience with business leadership in medical device and/or life sciences industry. * Consistent track-record of leading, developing and engaging high performance, cross functional, inclusive teams in a matrix business environment. * High learning agility with aptitude for seeking out new and innovative solutions, identifying patterns in complex situations, exploring alternatives and taking calculated risks. * Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills used to conceive, develop and implement commercial strategies, convert these into tactical business plans and deliver results.
