In this position...

The Technical Expert role will be responsible for leading Ford Body & Climate electronics assembly design requirements to ensure best practices are applied on all body and climate electronics designs.

Technical Expert - Body & Climate Electronics / Systems for Full Service Supplier ECUs

What you'll do...

  • Lead Ford Body & Climate electronics assembly design requirements to ensure best practices are applied on all body and climate electronics designs

  • Own the corporate body & climate electronics design requirements

  • Define acceptable material types for proper lifetime exposure

  • Define electrical, architectural and mechanical interface for maximum robustness

  • Lead technical reviews with suppliers to ensure compliance to design requirements

  • Document failure modes and feed back to improved design requirements

  • Lead Ford Body & Climate electronics assembly validation requirement process

  • Own the body & climate electronics corporate validation documents and requirements

  • Specify best practices in module validation for electrical and mechanical stresses

  • Lead corporate wide technical document for module validation

  • Lead Ford Body & Climate system design and validation

  • Guide new body & climate system and architecture development

  • Own body & climate system validation and requirements

  • Lead Ford Lead Interface with internal Ford teams to ensure proper operation, configuration and validation testing is occurring at the module and system level

  • Work with component and system teams to ensure proper module configurations are created

  • Troubleshoot features and customer expected behavior

  • Lead cross product documentation and communication of design and manufacturing best practices

  • Perform confirmation reviews with module supplier manufacturing and at Ford vehicle assembly facilities.

  • Develop supplier review checklist documents for program reviews by module design and release engineers.

  • Work with supplier technical assistance team to ensure requirement compliance on ongoing production hardware.

  • Lead Deep Dive, data-driven audits at key events, not limited to vehicle program milestones

  • Audit physical and CAE test data with suppliers

  • Ensure testing was performed to expected standards and test requirements

  • Audit program level verification evidence to ensure program compliance to necessary data requirements.

  • Audit applicability and quality of evidence for Design Rules stored in FEDE for programs

  • Review early program assumptions and identify new potential unique noise factors, customer usage, and failure modes risks.

  • Ensure Ford and industry lessons learned are documents in the associated quality history.

  • Audit alignment of classification of significant and critical characteristics in appropriate documents.

  • Confirm all Design Rules & Requirements have been assessed at key milestones

  • Lead resolution of module configuration, function and assembly validation issues

  • Lead the creation of and conduct training, seminars, mentoring to support Ford design and release community and supplier technical assistance teams.
