Raytheon Missiles & Defense Whole Life Engineering (WLE) consists of several engineering disciplines. The main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and safe and economical ownership by the customer and end user. At Naval Power section within Whole Life Engineering, we provide a variety of Engineering capabilities to the Whole Life Engineering and Support Department, including:

  • Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)

  • Reliability Availability Maintainability Analysis (RAM)

  • System Safety

  • Logistics Engineering

  • Technical Documentation /Logistics Management Information and Training

  • Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)

  • Depot Operations Management

We are conducting search for a Technical Editor/Writer, who will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams with the objective to oversee logistics engineering within major development programs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and reviewing technical communications deliverables including engineering documentation, operational procedures, plans, action reports, and meeting minutes, coordinating with engineering teams to obtain necessary input data

  • Preparing, reviewing, editing and maintaining program technical documents including software and system engineering documents, CONOPS, test reports, user documentation, implementation documentation, etc.

  • Creating, reviewing, editing and maintaining technical drawings

  • Providing assistance to the Whole Life Engineering Lead or Integrated Product Team Lead

This position can be a Salary Grade G06 or Salary Grade G07 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Periodic domestic travel is required.

Required Skills:

  • Experience developing written content in a military or civilian environment

  • At the G07 level, a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.

  • Experience with print, electronic, video and/or social media vehicles

  • US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML) Editors

  • Experience with Data Module Publishing Systems used to produce Technical Manuals (TM) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)

  • Experience technical writing and editing

  • Experience with creating technical briefings including executive leadership briefings

  • Experience developing news articles, monthly newsletters, executive messages, advanced PowerPoint presentations and infographics

  • Familiarity with a variety of communications vehicles, practices and technologies, including print, electronic, video and social media

  • Familiarity with technical communication language and subject matter

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree. 8+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

The Sr. Technical Planner I position will be a member of the Program Management Excellence organization, supporting classified programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance and analysis of the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for complex programs. This position will be located in Portsmouth, RI. Key Responsibilities: * Ability to understand the program technical and programmatic solution, and partnering with the program team, lead integration of that solution into the IMS baseline plan ensuring the cost, schedule and technical requirements are fully integrated into the execution plan. * Support the creation and maintenance of compliant Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) on requirements provided by the customer that achieve necessary cost and schedule integration. * Support the team to ensure program plan and IMS is developed consistent with IPDS and program life cycle. Must be able to review the IMS planned work for accuracy, identifying missing work or work that is planned improperly. * Understands, can create, use and recommend appropriate alternative/supplemental program mgmt. plans/artifacts (HUM, MPS, First Unit Flow), to help the program team understand and manage to the plan. * Partnering with SMEs, explain Schedule Risk Analysis results to program teams, understands SRA concepts and theory, with ability to interpret results to the program team and integrate mitigation plans into the IMS and schedule risks into the Risk Management process * Provides weekly and monthly planning metrics on schedule status, baseline maintenance, critical path analysis, and schedule variance analysis and network logic validation, employing appropriate Earned Value Management System processes * Must obtain a security clearance within 12 months of start Required Skills: * 4+ years of applicable Planner or Program Management experience that included Program Planning and Scheduling or related program/project management experience. * Experienced development and maintenance of Integrated Master Schedules in a highly matrixed Organization * Experience using software designed for creating and maintaining industry related schedules.
