Peraton is seeking a Cybersecurity Technical Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Department of Treasury's Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) program. The candidate will directly interface with our customer to support and produce high-quality documents that effectively translate technical materials for better understanding by the communities that the customer serves. This position is in Washington, DC and allows for partial telework.
The candidate is expected to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and work effectively with employees, subcontractors, and the Treasury staff in a diverse team environment. This position requires that the candidate be a self-starter and team player.
Level 3: Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as English, Communications, Engineering or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 6 years' of relevant work experience OR 10 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
5+ years' technical writing experience including research and independently developing documents, white papers, user guides and training manuals, meeting minutes, business process and data flow diagrams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate effectively in all forms of communication including digitally and must demonstrate an attention for details.
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable using text and pictures; able to diagram and illustrate workflows.
Ability to proactively make informed decisions and recommendations to ensure documentation meets compliance, technical and quality standards, and supports project objectives.
Ability to independently organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple and changing priorities.
Must be a US Citizen and be must be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation.
4+ years' technical writing experience supporting cybersecurity project deliverables including risk assessments, architectural documents, and policy documents.
Familiarity with security controls and strategies, cloud computing, network infrastructure, and SDLC.
1+ years' experience in a Federal environment.
Experience reviewing documents for Section 508 compliance.
