Answers for a Complicated WorldLeidos DSI has an open position

for a Technical Documentation Specialist to support our software development, quality assurance

and training functions within the program.

The Technical Documentation Specialist will be

responsible for planning, developing, organizing, writing and editing a variety

of technical documents in support of software configuration management, quality

assurance, training and customer support within the DSI program. He or she will be responsible for working

with subject matter experts to produce technical documentation to ensure

compliance with meeting applicable security standards. Documentation tasks also include producing

help files, software release notes, quick-reference guides and occasionally,

training materials.

The Technical Documentation Specialist will manage

and maintain a comprehensive library of technical knowledge articles to ensure relevance

and accuracy for our support teams. On

an ongoing basis documents will be analyzed to maintain continuity of style and

appropriate proprietary markings. Assignments

may be complex in nature requiring analysis of software code changes, IT environments

and support processes. This may include documenting

technical design specifications and test scripts. In-depth understanding of various concepts

will be needed and including Fed Ramp requirements, customer-specific processes

in software functionality, and support requirements. The candidate will work closely in

consultation with technical staff and other stakeholders and must be able to

handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

Typically requires a BA degree and 4 - 8

years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior

relevant experience.

Required Skills:

Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to

translate technical concepts into plain language for both end user and technical

(engineering) audiences.

Strong command of the English language is essential.

Ability to exercise judgement in determining sensitive or

proprietary data for our program and to be consistent in proper markings and

templates.

Advanced skills using MS Office Suite

and Adobe Acrobat.

Ability to graphically illustrate concepts like data flow, network

configuration, support processes, etc. using MS Visio or similar software.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows Servers and data

flow within

and across networks in enterprise environments.

Knowledge of Active Directory authentication, including

permissions, policies and configuration.

General knowledge of IT Security principles with attention to

detail in identifying areas of risk.

Understanding of web-based database software applications.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Configuration Management documentation

preferred.

Experience in working with software help files preferred.

Sequel Developer experience preferred.

Requirements 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment. Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography. Additional training in one or more modality will be completed within 1 year of hire into position must be able to perform in 2 or more modalities with at least even amount of time spent rotating in each annually based on the needs of the OU. ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within 1 year of training: BLS Must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an INOVA free standing Imaging Center not affiliated with one of the INOVA Hospitals. Interpersonal abilities, communication, consultation, facilitation, and presentation. Basic computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet analysis as well as EMR and PACS trouble shooting. Capability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekends when required.
