Our direct client is looking for a Technical Director

  • Microsoft Infrastructure for a Long Term Contract in Trenton, NJ

Role Description:

  • This Senior Consultant is a Director-level resource that has worked as an architect or senior technical role in the analysis, design, implementation, administration, security and support of Microsoft Windows-based local and enterprise services.

  • The Senior Consultant is a highly technical position responsible for the efficient and effective management and supervisor of the staff handling the analysis, design, implementation, administration, security, maintenance and support of the departments external- and internal-facing Microsoft Windows-based local and enterprise services.

  • This role will combine the skills and experience of a solutions architect with that of an IT Director.

  • Prior experience should include both senior level expertise in managing and supporting modern Microsoft infrastructure and roles similar to a solutions architect.

  • This individual will be responsible for wearing multiple hats, including functioning as a technical expert to answer process related questions and higher level technical decisions.

  • This role demands someone who has the express ability to make decisions in a collaborative process with full-time senior Departmental management

Some of the hands on skills the ideal candidate should possess:

  • Project and Timeline Management

  • O365, Azure

  • SCCM Configuration, including DP creation / placement; role-based access

  • Desktop Lifecycle Management via SCCM, including Image / Package Creation; WaaS; GPO; Patching; WOL

  • Identity Management via AD; ADFS; SAML; AD Connect; Certificate Authority; Two-Factor; Single Sign-on

  • Windows Enterprise Services

  • AD; ADFS; DNS; DHCP; File and Print; IIS - in a complex multi-forest / multi-domain environment


  • Senior Consultants are able to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. Defines system and application architecture and provides vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving ability to organization.

  • Consults with customer to define need or problem, conducts research, performs studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyzes problems to advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or technology of specific discipline or field of specialization.

  • The Senior Consultant may lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Typically reports to and/or receives strategic direction from an executive or a manager.

  • Provides strategic consultation direction to management. Provides measurable intellectual capital in developing solutions and solving problems.

  • Experience developing architectural components to functional, technical and industry standards.

  • Coordinate work with other IT professionals on system development teams. Generally aware of new developments in industry and process and has ability to apply them to work as appropriate.

  • Proficient in more than one IT architectural discipline defined as information technology, computer programming, computer security, computer systems analysis, database management, information systems, internet applications and development, software development, and related fields.

  • May manage or oversee the tasks and priorities of one or more supervisors or team leaders. Advises customer on alternate methods of solving need or problem, or recommends specific solution. Mentor and coach peers and subordinates.

  • Provide knowledge transfer to peers and subordinates.

Preferred Education:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study or advanced degree


  • Prior experience as a director/management level resource in a servers and desktop services environment Required

  • Prior experience functioning as a senior mentor/leader to others Required

  • Prior experience with Lifecycle Management for both Servers and Desktops Required

  • Project and Timeline Management Required

  • Prior experience with Enterprise Services in a complex multi-forest / multi-domain environment Required

  • Prior experience with SCCM Configuration, including DP creation / placement; role-based access Required

  • Prior experience with Identity Management Required

  • Prior experience working with Azure Required

  • Prior experience working with O365 Required

  • Prior experience working with MS-SQL Required

  • Prior exposure to One Identitys Active Roles Server and Password Manager

  • Highly desired

  • Prior project work with n-Tier Environments (firewalls; application delivery controllers / load balancers; vLANs; micro-encapsulation)

  • Highly desired

  • Prior project work with VMware, including NSX
